All the dogs have been moved to a safe location for the freeze. Thank you to SISD and the Vet Tech program for allowing us the use of your space. Big thanks to the ACO and his family ( even with work, kids, a high risk pregnancy, preparing for the freeze, and a very emotionally tiring court case this week) they showed up this morning to help transport and get the dogs settled and will be helping over the next few days to care for the dogs.

We would like to thank Benji's Animal Adoption Barn. Gave them a call today about a dog that was picked up yesterday, severely covered in fleas, and they responded with shampoo to bathe the dogs at the pound.

Check these out. A friend has one, when you scan the QR code it gives you the dogs info but also notifies the owner. All you do is purchase the tag or collar, they are on Amazon, set it up and put it on your dog. No monthly or yearly fees to pay and will help get your dog back home if they should get lost. Do the responsible thing and tag or microchip your dog.

Female pug mix just picked up in the 800/700 block of Ave C. Call Sweeny Police Department to reclaim. Been almost 2 days and no owners have come forward at this time, she is well behaved and definitely someone's dog. Come Minday if she hasn't been claimed she will be available for adoption or rescue.

Low cost spay and neutering for residents in Brazoria County!
On August 2, 2025 we will be partnering with Jenni's Rescue Ranch, Laurel's House, and Petco Love to bring this to Angleton. On that day 150 pets will be spayed / neutered for just a $20 non refundable deposit. In order to receive this amazing opportunity you must sign up for an appointment and be a resident of Brazoria County. The link to sign up will be posted approximately two weeks prior to the event.

Six months ago, one of our Animal Welfare Officers microchipped a young German Shepherd during a routine visit. A microchip is a small device, about the size of a grain of rice, placed under the skin. It holds a unique ID number that helps us contact the owner if the pet ever gets lost. It’s quick, safe, and permanent—and it works.

This week, that same dog was found roaming loose. When we scanned him, the microchip came up right away. Because of that, we were able to skip the shelter and take him straight home to his grateful owner.

This is why we encourage every pet owner to microchip their animals. It’s a simple step that can make all the difference in getting a lost pet back home.
