Good morning friends. It's me Mom. The other day Simon told you there have been some changes with me and that we'd update you.
So as you may or may not remember that last year I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called Sjogren's Syndrome.
This seems to be causing me some MINOR issues and changes.
I also have pulmonary hypertension diagnosed in 2020. It's been very stable but over the last few weeks I've noticed a slight uptick in shortness of breath. I've also noticed a "fluttering" with my heart.
So during my yearly exam and review of the annual tests my lungs show a TOUCH of emphysema. This is new.
I've also noticed my joints being more achy more often, this partly due to advancing arthritis. I'm more easily fatigued certain days.
The fluttering of my heart not sure about what's causing this. I'll be going through more tests over the next few weeks.
My pulmonologist and I are on top of this. I'll also be seeing my rheumatologist in Nov. It's good it's in Nov I'll have more test results by then.
Trust me I'm not down and out, well maybe some days 😆. For the most part I still feel good. I still function, still able to love and take care of the babies.
Today in CT it's chilly at 65 degrees and rainy so today is one of the days I'm more achy and slow moving and a lot less energy.
Ok enough about me, probably more than you wanted to know
As for Simon, yes he did pass those two big stones, but unfortunately there are so many more in his bladder. This is just part of Simon's senior life. He's still a happy, semi active boy who will be 14 in 2 months!!
Our vet says this is something that happens with some dogs as they age. She also said, but there's no proof, that this could be a contributing factor to whatever horrible physical abuse he dealt with prior to me and we do know there was a lot.
Sorry for the very long post. You're now all caught up. Thank you for loving my babies and being supportive of them and me. Have a serene Sunday♥️
