I was gonna do a creatively titled, "Thankful Thursday" post, following "Wishlist Wednesday" but that never seems to work out.
So, this "Friggin' Friday", I want to give a shout out to some of the wonderful guys & girls who make it possible to continue helping our local wildlife.
We have volunteers who donate their time, money, and supplies to keep things running here and without them, this operation would cease to exist.
Thursday, I sent a group text out to my volunteers, who have agreed to allow me to reach out to them for transport help. The text was intended to find transport help for an orphaned raccoon kit, all the way from Ocean City, Maryland. Within minutes, we had a plan for transport help! (Baby O.C. is resting and rehydrating and safe, thanks to Ferrell Campbell.
We've had volunteers jump in and transport on weekends, nights, and distances well over an hour, to get these animals in for treatment. They've come from Rock Hall, Salisbury, Finksburg, and beyond.
We have volunteers who will jump in and get their hands dirty, scrubbing cages, assembling cages, prepping food, doing laundry, mixing formula, washing dishes, hanging shelves, etc.
We have an amazing team of volunteers here, who are equally excited to see the wildlife make progress, heal and make it to release.
MC Hennessy, Ms. Joyce McKenzie, Haley "helping Hands" Woolford, Mary Wiley Wagner, Lark Allen Ryan, Tiffany Zebron, Mary Schimpf, Rick Allison, Rebecca Emily, thank you all for the amazing help, so far this season. It has been a brutal year, so far. Thank you ALL for everything.
***If I've forgotten anyone, I sincerely apologize. My brain is toast***
***Also, this gratitude post does NOT include some of our donors who have sent $$ and supplies! I will get around to thanking you all soon, in a separate post!***
