Meet Nettie

If you looked up “ball of energy” in the dictionary, there’s a pretty good chance you’d find a picture of Nettie! This silly little girl is spontaneous, curious, and always ready to see what kind of adventure she can get herself into next. She especially loves squeezing herself into tight corners and finding the best little hiding spots—because apparently normal places to hang out are just too boring.

For all of her kitten energy, Nettie is also an absolute sucker for affection. She loves being held and is more than happy to soak up some cuddles when she isn’t busy exploring. One of her favorite ways to relax is finding a sunny spot and stretching out for a well-deserved nap.

Nettie is phenomenal with other cats and seems to especially love playing the role of the little sibling. She would be a wonderful addition to a home with another friendly kitty who wouldn’t mind having an energetic sidekick following them around.

Nettie’s foster family has absolutely loved getting to know her goofy, affectionate personality, and now she’s ready to find a forever family who will love her just as much. If you’re looking for a playful little sister, professional cuddle recipient, and tiny adventurer all wrapped into one adorable kitten, Nettie is your girl!

Meet Boone —
Boone is a playful, energetic gray kitten who approaches life with maximum curiosity and just the right amount of sass. He wants to investigate absolutely everything, and you can pretty much guarantee he’ll find a way to make you laugh while doing it. One of his favorite ways to welcome you home is by dramatically rubbing and rolling all over your feet like he hasn’t seen you in years.

When Boone finally clocks out from his daily kitten shenanigans, he turns into the sweetest little snuggle bug. He loves curling up with you at night, making biscuits, and suckling on his favorite blanket until he falls asleep. It’s equal parts adorable and hilariously Boone.

He has also done well around dogs! He may be a little unsure when he first meets them, but his curiosity quickly takes over and he’ll be checking them out in no time.

Boone is goofy, affectionate, curious, sassy, and wonderfully weird. If you’re looking for a kitten who will keep you entertained all day and snuggle up with you at night, Boone might just be your perfect little oddball.

Meet Clementine

Clementine is 20% crazy, 80% cuddle bug, and 100% CUTE! When the zoomies hit, she is FAST. She’ll race through the house, chase strings and balls, wrestle with her kitty friends, and generally get all of her tiny kitten demons out. Once she’s worn herself out, though, Clementine is more than ready to curl up beside you on the couch with a fuzzy blanket and soak up all the love.

She is incredibly curious and always wants to know what her people are doing. Whether you’re cooking, cleaning, studying, or just hanging out, Clementine will probably be in the same room supervising. She loves being around both people and other cats and would be thrilled to have a kitty friend to play with in her forever home. (keep an eye out on your clean laundry - that's her favorite place to be!)

Clementine is also a total sweetheart. She loves giving kisses, getting belly rubs, and “talking” back to you when you call her name. At bedtime, she’s happiest snuggled up with her person, ready to sleep beside you after another very busy day of being adorable.

If you’re looking for a kitten who will keep you laughing during the day and cuddle up with you at night, Clementine might just be your perfect little orange girl.

Meet Aelin

Aelin is equal parts psychopath and sweetheart, which is really just another way of saying she’s an orange kitten. This fearless little girl is outgoing, confident, and pretty much convinced the entire world was created specifically for her to explore. New people? New animals? New places? Aelin says bring it on.

She LOVES to play and approaches playtime with the kind of enthusiasm that can only be described as slightly unhinged. She’ll run, chase, pounce, wrestle, climb, and generally cause as much adorable chaos as possible before moving on to her next adventure. She isn’t really scared of anything and would likely do wonderfully in a home with cats, dogs, kids, or some combination of all three who can appreciate her big personality.

But underneath all that orange kitten insanity is an absolute cuddle bug. Once Aelin has finished terrorizing her toys and getting all of her crazies out for the day, she is more than happy to curl up with and soak up some love. She plays hard, cuddles hard, and does absolutely nothing halfway.

If you’re looking for a fearless little sidekick who will keep you entertained all day and snuggle up with you when the chaos is over, Aelin is ready to become the tiny orange menace your family never knew it needed.

Meet Cricket

This little girl is hyper, playful, and always ready for some fun, especially when interactive toys are involved. Wand toys, strings, anything she can chase—you name it, Cricket is ready to pounce.

She can be a little shy and skittish when she first meets someone new, but give her a little time and she warms up quickly. Once she decides you’re safe, her sweet and cuddly side comes right out. She loves affection just as much as she loves playtime, making her the perfect combination of silly kitten energy and snuggly sweetheart.

One of Cricket’s favorite hobbies is discovering new hiding spots around the house. Sometimes she’ll curl up in them for a quiet nap, and other times she’ll wait patiently for the perfect opportunity to pop out and “scare” you. Just be prepared to play along! And if you ever have trouble finding her, there’s one foolproof trick: shake the treat bag. Cricket will magically appear at record speed.

If you’re looking for a sweet, energetic little girl who will keep you laughing, play with you for hours, and then settle in for some cuddles, Cricket is ready to hop right into your heart!

The Homeward Bound Project had 17 kittens spayed and neutered today alone! Thanks to the work of homeward bound officers (especially Christianna), fosters, staff at MSU CVM shelter medicine, and veterinary students - these kittens are one step closer to finding their forever homes!!!! *not to mention a previous homeward bound officer and now 3rd year veterinary student spaying and neutering cats himself! THANK YOU COLE!*

Every kitten we spay or neuter is one less contributor to the cycle of unwanted litters in the state of Mississippi. Spaying and neutering helps reduce shelter overcrowding, prevents countless homeless kittens from being born, and gives every cat a healthier future. It’s one simple procedure that changes lives—for the kittens we help today and the ones who will never have to suffer tomorrow. 🐾

Our rescue family has been growing—and while we’re so grateful to be able to say YES to more cats and kittens in need, it also means our supplies are going faster than ever. ❤️

Right now, we have 45 cats and kittens in our care, with more continuing to come through our doors. Every tiny paw means more litter boxes to clean, more litter to scoop, and more supplies needed to keep our foster babies happy, healthy, and comfortable.

Meet Joanne, a kitty full of personality!

She’s playful, energetic, food-motivated, and absolutely fascinated by water. Showers, baths, running faucets, she always wants to know what’s happening! And when she’s done exploring the water, she enjoys being wrapped up in a cozy little “purr-ito.”

She’s a silly, quirky kitty who does things her own way. Joanne has a big personality and can go from sweet and snuggly to ready to play in a split second. She’s a textbook scaredy cat who may jump every time you stand up, but once she feels comfortable, her playful and curious side really shines. She’s also super chatty and loves to “talk” to you with plenty of meows, and she’ll happily meow right back when you chat with her!

She loves to sunbathe, chase toys, investigate anything and everything new, and is always ready for her next meal. With her endless energy, adventurous spirit, and big personality, Joanne would make a fun and entertaining companion for someone who appreciates a cat with a little extra spice!

Meet Miso 🐾💚
Miso and her sister, Mochi, may have had a rough start after being found together in a dumpster, but you would never guess it from the happy, playful kitten she has become. Miso started out as the shyer of the two, but with a little time and lots of love, she has completely come out of her shell.
These days, Miso is super playful and especially loves running around and wrestling with Mochi. Her beloved green ball is still one of her favorite toys, and once playtime starts, she is all in. When she gets excited, she also has plenty to say and will happily “chat” about whatever is happening.
The biggest change, though, is that Miso has grown into a total cuddler. She loves affection, being close to her people, and making herself part of whatever you happen to be doing. Whether you’re relaxing on the couch, getting chores done, or trying to accomplish something without kitten supervision, Miso would like to be included.
She has gone from a timid little kitten to a loving, talkative, playful girl who is ready to be someone’s tiny best friend. 💚

Meet Mochi 🤍🐾
Mochi was found in a dumpster alongside her sister, Miso, and while she was a little shy when she first came into foster care, she has blossomed into one seriously lovable little kitten. Mochi was always the slightly more outgoing sister, and now her confidence has grown into a big, affectionate personality.
Mochi is super playful and absolutely loves having Miso as her built-in best friend, wrestling partner, and partner in kitten chaos. The two can keep each other entertained forever, and when Mochi gets especially excited about playtime, she becomes quite the little conversationalist. She has plenty to say and is not afraid to make sure you hear it!
Once unsure about being held, Mochi has also become a true cuddle bug who loves affection and being coddled. More than anything, she wants to be involved in whatever her people are doing. If you’re sitting, she wants to be nearby. If you’re busy, she wants to supervise. If you’re giving out attention, she would very much like her share.
Mochi has grown into the perfect mix of playful, affectionate, curious, and talkative—and she is more than ready to make herself an important part of her forever family. 🤍
