Helping Hearts & Healing Tails Animal Rescue We are a nonprofit 501(c)3 foster based rescue (meaning we don’t have a physical location). We are 100% volunteer. We completely rely on donations to function.

Most importantly this rescue is dedicated to helping animals in the Ligonier PA area and surrounding communities find loving, forever homes. It is our goal to assist in rescuing and rehoming any animals in need. We are a foster based rescue and can only take in so many animals at a given point in time, but if we are full we will try to assist in other arrangements for any animals in need. It is ou

r hope that someday everyone will learn to be responsible pet owners and there will be no need for us, until then, we will be here to help those in need. We are a not for profit charity and have 501(c)(3) status. Anyone interested in donating to the rescue can send monetary donations via PayPal at [email protected] or to HHHT PO Box 42 Stahlstown, PA 15687. Donations of animal supplies are also welcome and can be dropped off at Tobias Auto Tag and Notary in Ligonier.

🚗👑 Who’s looking for a Passenger Princess? 👑🐾

Meet Princess. ❤️

After five years of loyalty, love, and trust, Princess was returned to us—not because of anything she did wrong. She was a good dog. A loyal dog. She did everything right.

Now, at 8–9 years old, she’s back in our care and trying to understand why the home and person she trusted are suddenly gone. The noise and activity of our main house are overwhelming for her, and what Princess really needs is something much simpler:

A soft place to land. A quiet home. A person of her own.

Princess is an easygoing senior girl who still has some pep in her step! She enjoys playing a little, but she’s also perfectly happy lounging beside you, watching TV, and enjoying the good life. 🛋️📺

I was surrendered to the rescue this past summer when my previous family was no longer able to care for me. I’m a very sweet boy who just needs someone willing to give me a chance.

👨 I can be fearful of men, but with time, patience, and kindness, that’s something I can work on.

🐾❤️ HHHT’S SWEETHEART CONSTANTINE IS AT MEET THE PUPPIES TODAY!! ❤️🐾

Come meet this VERY special boy and help us find him the forever home he has fought so hard for! 🥹❤️ Let’s get Constantine ADOPTED!

Constantine is a burn survivor, fighter, and total character with a BIG personality. He is energetic, playful, affectionate, and full of life. After everything he has been through, this boy deserves to finally know what it feels like to be HOME. 🏡

Constantine does need a very specific family. He must be the ONLY PET in the home and needs an experienced adult adopter who understands his energy and play style.

Because of his burn injuries, Constantine will also need a family prepared to make a lifelong commitment to his medical care. He requires ongoing skin care and strict year-round precautions because he is at an increased risk for skin cancer. He will continue to need ophthalmology follow-ups, and we don't yet know whether additional surgeries could be needed in the future.

We want his future family to understand that loving Constantine means being prepared for an investment in home-care supplies and veterinary care throughout his life. ❤️

We would LOVE to keep Constantine local to the Pittsburgh area so he can continue receiving follow-up care from the doctors who know him best at BluePearl Pittsburgh, and local applications will receive first consideration.

ZIGGY WIGGLESWORTH NEEDS A HERO — ADOPTER OR FOSTER!

We’ve posted Ziggy several times, and somehow this magnificent, wonky-legged little weirdo STILL hasn’t gotten the attention he deserves. 😭

Apparently the internet has failed to recognize greatness when it sees it.

Meet ZIGGY WIGGLESWORTH ❤️
🐾 3 years old
🐾 Male
🐾 Tan/White
🐾 56 lbs
🐾 Housebroken
🐾 Crate trained
🐾 Good with other dogs
🐾 Has been around cats and basically says, “Whatever.” 😎

🩺 ABOUT THOSE WONKY LEGS…

Ziggy was born with deformed front legs. We’re pretty sure whoever assembled him got the instructions from IKEA, threw away three important pages, had four screws left over, and said:

“Eh. Looks like a dog to me.” 😂

But PLEASE don’t mistake different-looking legs for a dog who can’t enjoy life.

ZIGGY RUNS. ZIGGY PLAYS. ZIGGY WALKS. ZIGGY STEALS TOYS.

He takes joint supplements to help keep those special little pogo sticks feeling their best, but Ziggy has absolutely NO idea he’s supposed to be different.
