One of the things I hear over and over when people come tour the barn, whether they're looking at lesson horses, lease horses, or sale prospects, is
"Wait... these are Thoroughbreds?"
The look of surprise never gets old.
We predominantly have Thoroughbreds here, and time after time people are absolutely stunned by how healthy, strong, and well conditioned they look. Honestly, a huge part of that comes from the Cubit Brand cubes and supplements that I get through Countryside Equine.
Over the last few years, this feed program has completely changed the way I look at horse nutrition. What I love most is how simple and natural it is. Countryside Equine has done an incredible job not only providing the Cubit products and supplements, but also offering the knowledge and support to help me build a feeding program that truly works for my horses.
I think it's easy to get caught up in endless grains, supplements, and heavily processed feeds. Sometimes we forget that horses thrive when we focus on quality nutrition and getting to the root of issues rather than simply adding more products. That's exactly what I love about this program.
Most of my horses are maintained on free choice grass hay along with Cubit cubes and the supplements provided through Countryside Equine. In fact, many of them are so easy to keep on this feeding program that they're currently on a diet, including some of our performance horses that are in heavy work. They maintain excellent weight, look fantastic, and continue to perform at a high level without needing huge amounts of feed.
What really stands out to me is that it's not just the show horses thriving. We also have a large lesson and lease program, and those horses work hard too. As many people know, lesson horses are often older and can struggle to maintain weight with the amount of work they're asked to do. Our lesson and lease horses are in consistent, heavy workloads, yet they continue to maintain their condition, toplines, and overall health exceptionally well. The Cubit products and supplements from Countryside Equine have been a huge part of helping those horses feel and look their best while doing an important job day after day.
My horses travel extensively, compete regularly, and work hard. They recently spent a week showing in Ohio, and throughout the year they haul all over the country. Through it all, they maintain their condition, energy, and overall health. Since switching to this program, I've seen tremendous improvements in gut health, weight maintenance, and performance across the board.
One of my favorite things is going to shows or having people tour the farm and hearing them do a double take when they see my horses.
"That's a Thoroughbred?"
Yes. Yes it is.
I am incredibly grateful to Countryside Equine for introducing me to the Cubit Brand products and helping me create a feed program that has worked so well for every horse in our program. From performance horses to lesson horses, the results speak for themselves, and I couldn't be happier with how these horses look, feel, and perform.

If you know me, you know that plants and I don't exactly have the best track record. But I still wanted something around the property that added a little beauty, personality, and charm.
Ray and Abby absolutely knocked it out of the park with these pieces. The second they brought them over, I was in love. They are so unique, fit our style perfectly, and add so much character to the farm. Every time I walk by them, I find myself smiling.
It's always special when you can find pieces that feel like they truly belong somewhere, and that's exactly what these are. I couldn't be happier with how they turned out and I'm so excited for everyone who visits the farm to see them.
Ray and Abby are incredibly talented, and if you're looking for something similar or have an idea you'd like to bring to life, I highly recommend reaching out to them. We are absolutely thrilled with these and couldn't thank them enough.

WEC Ohio.
I could not be more proud of these three mares and everything they accomplished this week.
Buffy attended her very first horse show and absolutely exceeded every expectation I had for her. This was her first time seeing full courses, her first time jumping off property, her first time stalling away from home, and her first time hauling such a long distance. She handled every bit of it like an absolute professional. Were there a few bobbles? Of course. She's a young horse experiencing a lot of firsts. But she was brave, willing, confident, and never once let the atmosphere get the best of her. I walked away from this week incredibly excited about her future.
Blitz was an absolute rockstar. For those who have followed her journey, confidence has not always come easily to her. In previous years, that has been one of our biggest challenges. This week, however, she walked into the ring believing she belonged there. She was brave, confident, and genuinely looked like she was having fun. In fact, she may have been a little too confident at times, which is a problem I am more than happy to have. Now our job is finding that balance between confidence and strategy. What made me happiest was seeing how much she loves her job. She truly enjoys what she does and this week she made that very clear.
Bonnie also had an incredible week. As a younger mare, she has gone through her fair share of growth spurts and awkward stages while learning how to use her body. Balance has been something we have worked very hard on over the years. This week she really showcased the progress she has made. She stayed balanced, listened beautifully, and was thoughtful throughout her rounds. Bonnie has always been our little pocket rocket, the type that would happily say "hold my beer" and take a chance. Seeing her slow down, stay with me, and really use herself was a huge accomplishment and a testament to how much she has matured.
All three mares were incredibly consistent throughout the week. They hauled like champions, stalled quietly, handled the atmosphere beautifully, and represented our program better than I could have asked. While there were a few rails here and there, those are easy fixes. What matters most is the confidence, rideability, willingness, and foundation they showed all week long.
This show was especially meaningful to me because it was my first show back after breaking my collarbone. Coming back from an injury like that can be intimidating, but these mares took such good care of me. They gave me confidence when I needed it and reminded me why I love doing this so much. I am incredibly grateful for each of them and everything they continue to teach me.
A huge thank you to Paisley for all of your help throughout the week. We truly could not have done it without you. Thank you to my mom for always being in my corner, supporting us, and helping wherever needed. Having people like you behind us makes all the difference.
It truly takes a village to get horses to a show like this, and I am so grateful for the team behind these mares. Thank you to our bodyworkers, our farriers, and our feed for helping keep these horses feeling and performing their best. The work that goes on behind the scenes does not go unnoticed, and these horses are a reflection of all of it.
I am beyond excited for what the rest of the season holds for these girls. If this week was any indication, the future is very bright.

Sometimes the best rides are the completely unplanned ones.

Today we decided to just hop on at the barn and ride the horses right into town and honestly it turned into one of the most fun rides. Busy streets, traffic, all kinds of sights and sounds and even a drive through run with the horses. Safe to say they were pretty convinced they deserved snacks too.

People always ask how we get our horses so solid minded and confident in new situations and honestly a huge part of it is just getting them out and exposing them to real life. Different environments, different scenarios, different pressures and letting them learn to think through things instead of panic through them.

We really try to give these horses every opportunity to become well rounded and confident partners both on and off the property. Plus rides like this are just a blast and a good reminder that horses are supposed to be fun too.
