Some pupdates are exciting... and some can be bittersweet 🙃 Behind the scenes, we've had a lot of big decisions to make, and one of the hardest has been deciding that Creed will be going to live with a friend of ours. As much as we wish we could keep every single one, the reality is… we can't 😔 Making responsible decisions for our dogs (and program) will always come before our own emotions.
The bright side is that Creed isn't going far! He'll be with someone we trust wholeheartedly AND that works in the same building as Alexx so we (& our pack) will still get to see him all the time at doggy daycare and get to watch him be loved every single day. We couldn't have asked for a better home for him, and we're so excited for this next chapter (even though we'll miss seeing his patched face around the house every day) 🤍🖤🐾

Here’s a “small world” story for you! 🥹🐾
We met Lani’s brother, Dodger!! 😍

Out of Alexx’s two jobs, she works at a grooming salon, and when her and Katie (mom to Zoic, Koi & Tinkerbell!) spotted a Dalmatian walking in for daycare, naturally, they both abandoned all productivity to go say hi to him 😂 After chatting with his mom, Alexx found out this handsome boy, Dodger, is Lani’s BROTHER! 😍 Like… what are the chances that Lani’s brother would randomly walk into the very salon where Alexx works?! 🥹🐾 We see a lot of Lani’s son, Zephyr in his face! The family resemblance runs strong! 🖤🤍

Ready for another famous Dalmatian? If you’re a Sublime fan, you’ve probably seen Lou Dog! 🐾 Lou Dog belonged to Bradley Nowell, the lead singer, guitarist, and songwriter of the legendary ska-punk band Sublime! He was named after Bradley’s grandfather, Louis
💚❤️💛 Lou became like a member of the band, appearing in music videos, on album artwork, and even being mentioned in Sublime’s music!

Practice the “weird” stuff! 🤭 Teaching your dog to stand or hold uncomfortable looking positions can make a HUGE difference at the vet and grooming salon! 🩺💉🛁✂️ Something as simple as practicing a position for a jugular blood draw (like Zoic is showing us in this picture!) can help them stay calm and cooperative when it really matters! The goal? Make the unfamiliar feel familiar! ☺️

🐾HAPPY INTERNATIONAL DOG DAY! 🐾
Today is basically a holiday dedicated to our favorite kind of chaos! 😂❤️
The muddy paws, the slobbery kisses, the Dalmatian glitter EVERYWHERE, the 6 a.m. wake-up calls… and somehow, we wouldn’t trade a second of it! Dogs have a way of making our lives fuller, funnier, and honestly just better. They’re our adventure buddies, our couch potatoes, our emotional support systems, and sometimes the reason we can’t have nice things 😂
So today, give your dog an extra treat, an extra belly rub, and a little longer walk!
And to all the dogs who have ever been loved, rescued, adopted, spoiled, fostered, or simply made someone’s day a little brighter…

Teach your dog to generalize behaviors, not just memorize commands!
If your dog only knows “lay down” in your living room, they don’t truly understand the behavior yet… Practice the same command in new environments like different rooms, outside, at the vet, around distractions, and in pet-friendly stores! Only change one variable at a time so your dog can succeed! The goal isn’t just obedience, it’s teaching your dog to understand the behavior regardless of where they are! 💪🏻🐶
