Kayleigh didn’t have a show after this grooming visit, but she still deserves to look ring ready 💅🏆
Beautiful beautiful girl! Always love seeing her😍! For those of you who may not know, Kayleigh and her brother Benny (an English cocker who comes in today!) are the dogs I first learned to handstrip on!
It was a bit nerve wracking throwing myself into learning handstripping on an active show dog (Kayleigh) and a retired show dog (Benny), but I’m so grateful for their mom, and their previous groomer trusting and having faith in me. An additional thank you to Kayleigh’s breeder who also helped me with feedback as I was perfecting and honing my handstripping skills and my show setter groom.
This community can be such a wonderful place and I’m just so filled with love from all the mentorship I’ve been able to find.
Thank you Stacye Grayson for going out of your way to teach a beginner how to hand strip and with trusting me with your clients, Kayleigh and Benny. For your mentorship and support. I didn’t utilize it enough when you lived local, but I appreciate it every single time I handstrip a dog!
Thank you to Pam Gale, Kayleigh’s breeder. You have given me such valuable feedback on Kayleigh’s trim and helping me understand Irish setter conformation and how to best highlight the right angulation and body structure, especially in her shoulders and chest. Having such a knowledgable breeder willing to take time out of their day to educate someone eager to learn means an immense deal to me and I’m so thankful.
And thank you to Jillian Peppin for trusting me with your babies, especially when I was such a new groomer to handstripping and who’d never touched a show dog before. I’m delighted to work with your duo every single time and I can’t wait to see Benny today!
