What Is That Muscle Reaction? 🐴⚡️

Have you ever watched an Acuscope treatment and wondered why you see the horse’s muscle twitch, ripple, or contract underneath the probes?

What you’re seeing is a neuromuscular response to the stimulation being delivered through the Acuscope.

As the treatment is applied, the micro-current can stimulate nerves and muscle fibers, creating a small, localized contraction. You may see the muscle respond more noticeably in areas that are tight, fatigued, or particularly sensitive.

✨ The important part: a visible twitch does NOT automatically mean the horse is hurting or that there is an injury. Every horse responds differently, and the reaction can change as the treatment progresses.

I watch the horse’s entire response throughout the session — body language, muscle response, sensitivity, and relaxation — rather than looking at one twitch.

The goal is to use the Acuscope as one part of a comprehensive bodywork and rehabilitation approach to help support the horse’s comfort, relaxation, and muscular function.

🐴 Every horse tells you something. You just have to know how to listen.

After 11 almost 12 years as an Equine Technician, I’ve spent countless hours caring for horses, learning from them, and seeing just how much they give of themselves for us. Somewhere along the way, I realized I wanted to do more than simply care for them, I wanted to better understand their bodies and be part of helping them feel their best.

That’s what led me to pursue education in Equine Massage and Electro Acuscope and Myopulse Therapy.

Every horse deserves to feel good in their body, whether they’re a high-level athlete, a weekend warrior, a young horse just beginning their journey, or simply a beloved companion.

There is something incredibly rewarding about helping a horse become more comfortable, move more freely, recover from what they’ve been through, and get back to doing what they love.

This isn’t just the career I chose, it’s something I am passionate about and strive to be the best I can be at every day. I’m constantly learning, growing, and expanding my knowledge because these horses deserve nothing less.

The horses have given me so much over the years. This is my way of giving something back. 🤍✨🐴

Electro Acuscope was a HUGE part of Laylas recovery process ❤️‍🩹

➡️ Why are the Results from an Acuscope Treament Cumulative?
The cumulative effect means that each treatment of a given area will take a shorter time and the pain relief which follows will last longer and longer. Unlike some other forms of pain relief, such as therapy with certain drugs, the body does not buld up a tolerance to Acuscope treatments, just the opposite occurs. Mild electrical stimulation has been proven to stimulate the cells of the body to produce chemicals which are responsible for cellular energy production and may be thought of as the fuel which allows the cells to begin to repair themselves. As these chemical reactions build up, the body’s response to each treatment becomes stronger and the pain relief lasts longer. With each treatment the tissues are able to repair themselves more completely. In most cases, a series of treatments leads to permanent relief or to a greatly diminished level of pain.
