Remember the seven Golden Retrievers we rescued from heartbreaking conditions this summer? Well, we have some very exciting news about the last of the group!

Marie has found her forever family!

Her new family traveled all the way from California to meet her, and soon Marie will be heading to Los Angeles to begin her happily ever after!

But Marie isn't just getting a ride to her new home. She's getting the road trip of a lifetime!

Her incredible foster parents are turning her journey into a Route 66 adventure! They'll start at the iconic Route 66 sign right here in Springfield, Missouri, and travel all the way to the Santa Monica Pier in California, stopping along the way to photograph Marie at famous landmarks like Cadillac Ranch and more! 🚗☀️

Just a couple of months ago, Marie was living in a tiny pen with six other Golden Retrievers, with little food, water, or human kindness. Now she's about to travel across the country with people who absolutely adore her, on her way to a family who couldn't wait to make her their own.

We can't think of a more perfect way to celebrate just how far this sweet girl has come.

💔 FOSTERS NEEDED FOR OMEN & SCULLY

Through absolutely no fault of their own, these two young Doodles are looking for new homes and need foster families to give them a safe place to land.

Omen and Scully are only about a year old. They have their whole lives ahead of them, and they deserve the chance to be loved, safe, and given the opportunity to thrive. Can you open your home to one of them? Even a temporary foster can make all the difference.

Omen is a handsome, approximately 50-pound Doodle mix who is social, affectionate, and enjoys being around people and other dogs. He’s still very much a puppy and needs a family willing to offer love, patience, and guidance.

Scully is a sweet, approximately 50-pound Goldendoodle who loves affection and attention. She gets along with other dogs and is still learning, so she’ll benefit from patience, consistency, and guidance.

Both are located in Springfield, MO, but transport may be available.

💔 Teddy needs more than our love. He needs YOUR help.

When Teddy came to HavaHeart Rescue, he was approximately 20 pounds underweight and so severely infested with fleas that they were literally crawling out of his eyes. Now, we know he’s also heartworm positive and anemic from the overwhelming flea infestation.

This boy has so much healing ahead of him, and getting him there is going to take veterinary care, treatment, and resources.

That’s where YOU come in.

TRANSFORMATION THURSDAY! 🫶💟😍

Recently, the foster family of Cherish shared this story, and it reminded us all of why we do what we do.

When Cherish came into HavaHeart Rescue, she was a very sick, fragile little girl. Some might have called her “broken.” She was believed to be both blind and deaf, and her little body had clearly been through so much.

The day after she came to us, we took her to Best Friends, where Dr. Sean said that without veterinary care, Cherish probably wouldn’t have survived more than a few days. Her teeth were in such terrible condition that the infection had spread into her sinuses. It was very clear that she desperately needed someone to give her a chance.

And what a difference love, patience, and proper medical care have made! She is incredibly sweet, loves attention, and has shown us that even the oldest, most neglected dogs can blossom when someone believes they’re worth saving.

Then something wonderful happened. Cherish stole the heart of a family. They flew into St. Louis, rented a car, and drove back to Atlanta... with a very special passenger. Cherish, now lovingly named Gertie, was on her way to her forever home! 🏠

She’s living her best life and now has SEVEN furry siblings, all seniors just like her. Talk about hitting the jackpot!

This story is a reminder that senior dogs are so often overlooked, but they deserve just as much love, compassion, and care as any other dog. They have so much love to give. If you’ve ever been unsure about fostering an older dog, let this be your sign to consider saying yes. You may be the very person who changes that dog’s entire world... and we can almost guarantee they’ll change yours, too.

Happy forever, sweet Gertie! You were never broken. You were simply waiting for someone to see how precious you really are.

What a privilege it is to be loved by a dog.

Zoomies in the yard, couch takeovers, and plush toys that don't stand a chance. Some of these Havaheart dogs are living their best lives in their forever homes. Others are soaking up love in foster homes while they wait for theirs.
