Many people think shaving a double-coated dog will help keep them cooler—but in most cases, it actually does more harm than good.

🐾 Quick Facts:
• ❌ Their double coat acts as insulation, helping keep them cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
• 🌞 Shaving removes their natural protection from the sun, increasing the risk of sunburn.
• 🐕 The coat may grow back uneven, patchy, or with a different texture and color.
• 💨 A healthy double coat allows air to circulate to help regulate body temperature.
• 🚫 Shaving can permanently damage the coat, sometimes preventing it from growing back correctly.
• 🪮 Regular brushing and professional de-shedding remove loose undercoat without damaging the protective outer coat.
