From novice beginners to more intermediate handlers welcome! Introduce your dog to the equipment, learn handling techniques, and sequence multiple pieces! This class has something for everyone! Great for combining mental with physical activity!

Unleash your dog's nose with scent work! This class introduces your dog how to search for odor, how to indicate to odor, and how to follow basic search patterns. A great mental + physical activity that allows your dog to exhibit and explore natural behavior. Super beginner friendly and adaptable to different environments!

Yes! Mixed breed dogs with *certain* wire coats can be hand stripped! Baxter came into the salon today for a bath and tidy! We took almost 2 dogs worth of hair out!

We are having a blast helping dogs look their best in the K9O Strip N Tease Salon! I am excited to announce that DAN is officially back assisting with ALL of the things, including heavy lifting and comfort for our XL friends!

Moving forward Dan will be transitioning into an admin role, so we can stay efficiently on top of inquiries and paperwork, while also assisting in the salon, and with our boarding operation. We are so happy to have him back!

We are also hiring for an additional part time groomer! Currently accepting applications and conducting interviews to find the ideal fit!

I just had a bit of a WTF moment ...

There is no true nationally accredited designation (there's tons of orgs...). Anyone can watch a few clips online, take your money, buy a franchise, take a test, or throw a marketing term around and be considered a "professional trainer". It's scary really. And it's not easy for owners to select amongst a field of slogans, jargon, and advertising.

At K9ology we do not subscribe to social media trends, pop culture, or "training systems". We utilize SCIENCE to train. Yes, it is mostly through rewards and motivation - but everything is cross referenced with ethology, biology, psychology, and neuroscience ...

I have a degree in animal science with a specialty in behavior and a minor in business. I read peer reviewed journal articles, I develop ways to integrate theory and findings into real world applications. I stay current on a variety of fields as new things are constantly being discovered. There's way more than "punishment vs reward" in training - that's a HUGE red flag!

There is no real thing as "balanced training". This is a modern term coined by social media to delude people into thinking its ok to use punishment to train your dog as long as you also use rewards. Many trainers now use this term as a marketing gimmick. We all know a lot more goes into dog training and behavior than this. A lot more.... many dogs I see after this kind of approach are shut down, anxious, suppressed, stressed, or act like lifeless robots.

Whether you want to try K9ology, or you are looking for another professional ... make sure to do lots of homework, ask loads of questions, and look for red flags. Just because something "sounds" good or right, does not necessarily make it so. Look beyond the marketing and sales pitch... dog training cannot be distilled into one tool, one ideology, or one approach.

The inquiry is seriously concerning as this "pro" appears to reduce all of dog training and behavior down to only two principles. Dogs and owners deserve so much more than that. Always ask questions! I am happy to explain the what/where/why/how to any client who wants to take a deeper dive in their dogs education.

As we expand our offerings for the fall, what time frame would the general public prefer if we offered DAY TIME group classes?

Right now we mostly cater to the 9-5 crowd, so classes are on evenings are Sundays. What is the demand for mid day or afternoon groups?
