Back-to-school season can be a big adjustment for pets, too. Keeping a familiar routine, giving them some activity before everyone leaves, and providing safe enrichment can help make the transition easier.

It also helps to keep goodbyes calm, store backpacks and lunchboxes out of reach, and watch for changes in behavior that could be signs of stress.

Hot weather can be tough on our pets, but a few simple precautions can help keep them safe and comfortable.

🐾 Walk during the cooler morning or evening hours.
💧 Bring plenty of fresh water.
🌳 Stick to shady areas whenever possible.
✋ Check the pavement before heading out. If it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for your pet's paws.

A little extra care can go a long way on days like today.

Fireworks are a highlight of the Fourth of July for many of us, but they can be one of the most stressful nights of the year for our pets.

A little preparation can go a long way. Bringing pets inside before fireworks begin, creating a calm space, securing doors and gates, and making sure your pet's ID tags and microchip information are up to date can help keep them safe throughout the holiday.
