🔄 UPDATE: HARTFORD, WOODARD ROAD AREA 🐾🌈

The older brown tabby found on Woodard Road came in Friday night. He was seen by a veterinarian when I picked him up and was cleared for shelter intake. The shelter watched him through the weekend, saw how hard he was struggling to eat, and had him in front of their own vet first thing this morning.

He had a mass about the size of a golf ball that had taken over one entire side of his jaw and was pushing his tongue up against the roof of his mouth. There was nothing left to fix. The kindest thing was done and he was humanely euthanized.

An older brown tabby turned up at a residence on Woodard Road a couple of days ago and stayed. The folks who found him did the right thing, tried to find his people online, and when nobody came forward they called it in. He is with a veterinarian now.

He is in serious condition. I am not going to go into detail here, but he has been unwell for a long time and it is not something that came on last week.

No collar. No microchip. Nothing to go on.

🐾 Buckfield - 120 Block - Darnit Road area

Got called out for an animal reported struck by a vehicle in the 120 block of Darnit Road. When I got there, the only one I could find was this old orange fella tucked in and not doing well.

Looking him over, his condition doesn’t line up with a vehicle strike. This looks like an older gentleman who’s simply run out of road. Thin, worn down, and clearly been on his own for a while.

He’s been transported to Responsible Pet Care of Oxford Hills (207-743-8679) so he can be seen and get out of the weather. No microchip, no collar, no way to know who he belongs to. Whatever comes next, he won’t be doing it alone in a ditch.

If he looks familiar to you, or if you know of an older orange one missing from the Darnit Road area, please reach out. Even if he was somebody’s a long time ago, it would be good to know his name.

Thalassa is a handsome, sleek black kitten with stunning golden eyes and a heart full of potential. While he might give you "airplane ears" when you first greet him, don't let his initial nervousness fool you, he’s just a shy, gentle soul who needs a little time to feel secure.
​Likely born to a feral mother, human interaction is still somewhat new to Thalassa, and he takes time to warm up to new surroundings. However, he is making great strides! He currently lives in our cat community room, where his true personality shines around other felines: he absolutely loves having cat friends! Seeing other confident cats helps him feel safe and brings out his best side.

​If you love dogs, don’t mind getting your hands dirty, and want to help pups find their forever homes, this is the perfect role for you.

​Feeding, walking, and providing essential daily care.
Leading play sessions, training basic commands, and keeping spirits high.
​Cleaning and sanitizing kennels/pavilions.
​
What were looking for:
​A deep passion for high-quality animal care.
​Ability to handle dogs safely (including those who might pull, jump, or lunge on leash).
​Strong communication and teamwork skills.
​Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, and stand for long periods.
​A valid Driver's License is preferred or reliable transportation.
​Previous animal care or grooming experience is a plus, but not required, we will train the right person!

*Must be at least 18 years old
