Board and train Gus working on existing.
Gus has a bad bad habit of when he doesn’t get attention.. he finds things to injest. Yup. It’s a miracle he hasn’t had a blockage yet.
So this is what a lot of our sessions look like! No obedience. No commands. No micromanaging. Let’s just hang out.

Day 1 ➡️ Day 8
And days 2-6 looked a lot like day 1. Stress, confusion, and uninterested.
Day 8 after our play session, he also had his first positive interaction with a dog. Previous days Gus has been socially awkward (understandably. He has 0 dog experience) and uninterested. Day 8, he was interested and showing appropriate body language. I’m hoping to make him some doggy friends.

One week in and Gus’s eyes have gotten softer. He’s opening up. He’s being a dog. Learning how to socialize with other dogs and most importantly.. playing and interacting with me 🐶

There’s a big misconception that a board train program doesn’t teach the owners anything. That’s not the case with me. If what I’m doing during the board and train isn’t realistic at home with the dog and its owners, then what’s the point?
My goal is to set owners up for success with their dogs. The point is to make things easier, and less stressful. Sure training takes work, but if it’s not realistic at home, then there won’t be successful follow through for the owners.
So that’s what we are all about here.
Making things make sense! For dog and human!

Demo 💔🌈
Demo and his owner were one of my very first training clients almost a decade ago now. His owners were so dedicated and worked with him ever since they first got him. They were one of the best first training clients to have and Demo was one of the best puppies to have worked with so early on in my career.
I still got to see Demo a few times a year for boarding, and now hearing of his passing.. my heart breaks for his family.
Rest in peace Demo ❤️🐾

4 dog trainers..2 behaviorists. None of them have taught these owners how to have a healthier relationship with their dog. And how to truly tell their dog “no” and enough is enough.
Gus is here for a board and train to learn how to be a dog. How to not be micromanaged through life.
He knows his tricks. He knows obedience. He knows how to truffle hunt even! But what he doesn’t know, is how to just be.
Later on we will be slowly reintroducing Gus back home with his owners, but in a healthier place mentally.
Welcome Gus! He’s going to be a rewarding project

Sasha’s mom and dad walk very differently.
⚪️Dad likes to leisurely stroll; allow Sasha out front, allowing her to sniff, allowing her to be a dog.
⚪️Mom prefers Sasha directly next to her. Attentive. Loose leash.
💡Guess what?💡
You CAN have both!!
Allowing your dog in front of you IS OK.
Having them walk next to you is also OK.
It is NOT going to ruin your relationship.
It is NOT going to make your dog think they’re in charge having them in front of you.
All it comes down to is CLARITY.
Ensuring your dog understands and has clarity on the type of walk you’re taking with them.
Here is a video of Sasha showing both commands 🐶

Not every win has to be serious—and this is a good reminder of that 👏

This is one of my clients working on “play dead” with her dog. It’s still a work in progress, but honestly… that’s the best part. The patience, the consistency, and her attitude with her dog here is exactly why they’ve come as far as they have.

We didn’t set out to do trick training—but when you build a solid foundation, you get to have fun like this. And she’s doing a great job keeping it light, clear, and rewarding for her dog the whole way through.

Progress > perfection. Every time.

Would anyone else be interested in a trick class if I offered one? 👀

Field trips are fun… but safety comes first. Always.

Before paws hit the ground, we’re practicing patience, impulse control, and clear communication. Doors open doesn’t mean chaos—it means wait for direction. Release on cue, sit before loading back up, and stay level-headed no matter how exciting the adventure is.

This isn’t just “daycare”—it’s structure, training, and real-world skills built into every outing.

Because a dog that can think clearly in high-excitement environments is a dog you can trust anywhere.
