🐾 CGC Testing Night! 🐾

I’m looking at hosting a Canine Good Citizen (CGC) testing night for anyone wanting to officially test their dog’s manners and skills!

💰 $25 per dog to test
📅 No date set yet — I’m looking for a weekday evening or weekend that works best for everyone.

I’d also be open to offering AKC Trick Dog testing the same day for anyone interested in earning a Trick Dog title!

If you’d be interested in participating, comment below or message me with what days/times generally work best for you. Once I have an idea of interest, I’ll pick a date!

Let’s get those pups some titles!

🇨🇦 Canada Dock Diving Regionals 🇨🇦

Moss absolutely SURPRISED me this weekend. This goofy yellow dog showed up ready to work, and he was on fire!!!!

🥈 2nd — Senior HydroDash
Moss always teeters between Master and senior times, so I struggle to know how much to encourage him to swim back. So he truly just does whatever he wants for speed. I simply cannot be upset with a casual 2nd place.

🥉 3rd — Senior Air Retrieve
This one was HUGE. Moss had only ever grabbed 14’ twice before this weekend, and he ended up reaching all the way to 17’, into the next division! 😭

🏅 4th — Senior Distance
He actually tied for 3rd, but ended up taking 4th by just 6 inches based on season average. Talk about CLOSE!

🏆 1st — Senior HARD Charger Award
This award can only be attempted by competing in all three events, and somehow this little dude came out on top!

Funniest Swim — HydroDash
Because of course Moss had to make sure he won something for being ridiculous, too. 😂

He even came home with a tote bag full of treats & goodies!

The BEST part? We now have automatic invites to Nationals for both HydroDash AND Air Retrieve! We’re still waiting to see if Distance earns us an invite too. 👀

I couldn’t be more proud of this dog. The ribbons are amazing, but watching him push past what I thought were his limits is what I’ll remember most.

What a weekend. What a dog. ❤️🇨🇦

In honor of National Dog Day, I had to share some of my favorite photos of the dogs. Of course they all happen to be dog sporting event photos. Between fastcat, dock diving, and scentwork.

I have been working hands on with dogs going on 9 years and I truly cannot imagine my life any other way. I want to say thank you, to every person who has trusted me with their dogs. Whether that was boarding, daycare, training, or anything in between.

This month we’ve lost two of my family dogs. Days like today make me cherish my boys and these photos more than ever. I hope each of your dogs got some extra treats today. Love your dogs yesterday, today, and tomorrow!

Today we say goodbye to another one of my families dogs. Loosing a dog is never something we want, but this old man hurts me a little more.

You see, I don’t remember most of my childhood into high school. I hardly remember a time before this dog. He was the dog who I’d share juice boxes with, the dog I saw for the first time give unconditional love, and who truly started my love of labs.

Throughout my life, Drake will always be the dog I compare my lab to. Even before today, I’ve compared Moss to Drake. Their loyalty to their person is unmatched. Their presence is always known.

Through our years of selfies, each year they got harder and harder to get. This last one was the hardest yet. I will love you forever Drake.

Here’s your reminder we only have so many years with our dogs. Don’t forget to love them, because one day they won’t physically be here.

Last year Moss was invited to regionals for only one event and placed 3rd, over hundreds of dogs. This year he was invited for all 3 events. Let’s see what he can accomplish!

🤍 We’re officially in the second half of pregnancy! 🤍

I can’t believe how quickly this pregnancy is flying by, and with baby girl’s arrival getting closer, so is my maternity leave!

Before I step away, I’d LOVE to get as many of you and your dogs on my schedule as possible. 🐾

As a small business owner who is essentially commission-based, I don’t receive a paycheck while I’m on maternity leave. So every lesson, day train, and consult booked before I leave genuinely makes a difference for me and my family.

If you’ve been thinking about booking, now is the time! I want to help as many of you as I can before I take some time away to soak up those newborn days. 🍼

There are moments in this profession that remind me just how grateful I am to do what I love, and Monday was one of them. Being invited to judge the Madison 4-H Dog Show in conformation, agility, rally, and obedience was truly an honor.

It’s easy to focus on ribbons and placements, but the day was about so much more than that. It was about watching young handlers grow, communicate with their dogs, overcome challenges, and step into the ring with confidence. Seeing the dedication, sportsmanship, and bond each team shared was incredibly rewarding and a reminder that the future of the dog community is in great hands.

Thank you for trusting me with this opportunity, and congratulations to every exhibitor who stepped into the ring. Keep working hard, keep learning, and never lose the joy that comes from working alongside your dog.

🐾🩷 Our pack is growing by two feet🩷🐾

This December, we’ll be welcoming our newest family member. As we prepare for this exciting new adventure, there will be some changes to how I operate the business moving forward.

The Golden Academy has always been more than just a job to me, it’s something I’ve poured my heart into every day. While some things may look a little different in the coming months, my commitment to providing quality training and support for your dogs isn’t going anywhere.
