PUPDATE: Chewy’s walk-about is over. His family found him and is delighted he’s safe and home.
🐾
Chewy is from the 700 block of W Sinton Street and he made a run for it this evening.
If you see him (about 15-18 lbs) please let someone know.
His family misses him crazy.

Deceased pup reported by a kind person worried that owners may be looking for this little one.
She called City Hall to report it as well.
Pup was located around Cancino’s laundry and rail road tracks.

I want to address something directly. Recently, I was assaulted over a dog-related matter. It was upsetting, unnecessary, and something no volunteer or rescuer should ever experience.

That being said, our mission has not changed. The dogs still need us, and the work continues. So unless there are concerns that need to be addressed, it will be business as usual.

As a reminder of our focus and priorities:
First, we pull adoptable dogs and puppies from city kill shelters whenever possible. Those animals are at immediate risk, and we want to give them every chance we can.

Second, we help stray dogs and puppies within our county when a foster home is available. Foster availability remains one of the biggest factors in how many animals we are able to save responsibly.

We may be navigating difficult moments, but the mission stays the same: helping pups and dogs, supporting our community, and doing the work as safely and responsibly as possible.

Thank you all for continuing to show up and care about these animals. 🐾

Today 8 San Patricio county pups left for beautiful homes.
Yesterday 13 pups and dogs from Sinton animal control and various foster homes in our county left for bright futures.
We are very proud of the work we do.
Thank you for all the support. 🐾

PLEASE READ! Sinton Animal Friends was founded by Amy Howington. Her mission is to rescue dogs who have been abandoned, abused, or neglected. Amy and her volunteers crawl under houses, search abandoned properties, putting themselves at risk to save dogs in distress. That is why it is especially heartbreaking that someone would come to her home and ASSAULT her simply because she was doing what she cares about most: protecting a dog in distress. Amy suffered a broken nose and possibly a broken toe along with multiple bruises and a black eye. Amy did NOT deserve this. Those of us who know her, know that this will not stop her dedication to dog rescue. Please keep Amy in your prayers, because even the strongest women need prayer too. ❤️🙏🏻🐾
