📢 EBONY’S HEARTS ANIMAL RESCUE — OWNER SURRENDER POLICY
When an animal is officially surrendered to Ebony’s Hearts Animal Rescue, the surrender is considered a transfer of ownership and responsibility to the rescue.
We understand that surrendering an animal can be an emotional and difficult decision. However, once the surrender has been completed, Ebony’s Hearts Animal Rescue does not maintain ongoing contact, communication, or visitation with the previous owner regarding the surrendered animal.
This policy is in place to:
• Allow the animal time to decompress and adjust to their new environment
• Prevent confusion or emotional setbacks for the animal
• Give our foster families and adopters privacy and stability
• Allow the rescue to make appropriate medical, behavioral, and placement decisions
• Protect the privacy and safety of foster and adoptive families
• Ensure that the rescue can focus fully on the animal’s well-being and future
Once an animal has been surrendered, the rescue determines the appropriate course of care, including veterinary treatment, training, foster placement, adoption, or other placement decisions.
Previous owners should not contact foster families, adopters, veterinarians, or other parties involved in the animal’s care in an attempt to obtain updates or arrange contact.
We encourage anyone considering surrender to carefully consider their decision before completing the surrender paperwork. Once the surrender is finalized, the decision is permanent unless otherwise specifically agreed upon in writing by Ebony’s Hearts Animal Rescue.
We make these decisions with one goal in mind: what is in the best interest of the animal. ❤️🐾
Thank you for respecting our policies, our foster families, our adopters, and most importantly, the animals entrusted to our care.
