Just a reminder from your trainer: progress with your dog isn’t about perfection—it’s about consistency, patience, and showing up even on the busy days.
Some days your dog will nail every cue. Other days, it might feel like you’re starting over. That’s normal. Learning isn’t linear for you or your dog.
What’s important is every time you practice, you’re building communication, trust, and a stronger bond. That matters more than a perfectly executed sit or recall.

So celebrate the small wins!!

✔️ A moment of focus in a distracting environment
✔️ Choosing you over everything else, even for a second

Hilarious!! But we can do better! Train a “go to your place and stay “ and then you’ll be able to reduce the theatrics! But this video is definitely a good laugh!

One of the questions I get asked a lot is, “How do I build a better bond with my dog so that he will listen better?”

The truth is, bonding doesn’t come from one big moment. It comes from the little things you do together every day.

Take a walk together and bring your dogs attention back to you regularly by teaching a “watch me” command.
Play a game your dog loves.
Spend a few minutes training and celebrating the small wins.

These moments teach your dog that being with you is safe, fun, and rewarding. And when that relationship grows, training gets easier because your dog *wants* to work with you.

If you’re trying to improve your dog’s behavior, start by strengthening the relationship first. Everything else builds from there.

🐶 Dog Training Tip: Use the 5-Second Reward Rule
A simple but powerful dog-training tip is the 5-second reward rule

How it works:

1. Ask your dog to do a command (like **sit** or **down**).
2. The moment they do it, **reward them within 5 seconds** with a treat, praise, or a toy.
3. Repeat consistently.

Why this works:
Dogs connect actions to consequences very quickly. If the reward comes immediately they clearly understand *“That action earned me the reward!”* 🦴

Pro tip:
Use a happy voice and say the command the same way every time (e.g., “Sit!”). Consistency helps your dog learn faster. 🐕

Example mini training session:

* Say: “Sit.”
* Dog sits.
* Immediately say **“Good sit!”** and give a treat.

Just **3–5 minutes a few times a day** can make a big difference in your dog’s obedience!!
