The herd is resting on a warm Saturday morning after a brief, but intense storm last night. Such a good reminder that sometimes we also need those moments to just slow down, rest, relax, and breathe after the storms we encounter in life.

Grace produced a beautiful filly by Metallic Spark!!!

We had an eventful day surrounding her birth as we had some other mares that stole her from her mama which resulted in some temporary initial confusion (& a plasma IV) as Grace was up next to foal, BUT this filly REALLY appears to be a very light dunalino with not a black hair on her and a dunalino would be a genetic impossibility for Grace as she is supposed to be EEaaDDnCr and was bred to a stud that is eeAaRNrn! I've been told that cream+roan can heavily lighten a dunskin roan to appear like a dunalino, but I guess we will soon find out for sure... Needless to say, I'll be color testing her (and her dam) for solidification, but either way- we have an amazingly sweet, healthy, very well put together, cow bred filly in the herd!!

Maisey had a handsome dunalino c**t sired by Made For Hollywood (aka Patron)!!

Mama Maisey retained her placenta for a bit longer than we prefer, so we completed a uterine lavage to err on side of caution, but both appear to be doing quite well at this time.

We also experienced our 1st hippomane along with the delivery of our c**t, which was pretty neat!! (Attached pic)
