One of those little moments that makes me stop and appreciate how far my dogs have come.
Whisper is in heat, and instead of having to completely separate her from the pack, she has been able to continue living her normal life with everyone else. Supervised, of course, and with a diaper on, but she has still been out playing, running around the yard, and being part of the pack.
The boys know she is there, but they also know that when I call them away, they leave her alone. No whining. No fighting. No pestering. No chaos.
This morning they were all out playing together like normal. Then when it was time for Loki and Whisper to be together, there was no frantic excitement or drama. They were both calm and comfortable, and the transition was incredibly easy.
And now? Loki is curled up resting like nothing particularly exciting happened 😂
This is one of those things that probably doesn’t look like much from the outside, but it is something I’m really proud of. Good training isn’t just having a dog who can sit when you ask. It’s building dogs who can live calmly in real life, even when something exciting is happening around them.
A well-managed, well-trained pack makes everything easier 🥹💜
