A dying Bernese Mountain Dog got one last snow day because a community of strangers refused to let her miss it. ❤️🐾❄️

Brooke was 11½ years old and had been diagnosed with a terminal illness.

Her family knew she only had days left.

Brooke absolutely loved snow.

She wouldn’t make it to winter, so her family turned to Reddit with one simple request: Did anyone know where they could find a pile of snow where Brooke could enjoy one final day doing what she loved?

Hundreds of people responded.

Then someone offered to help.

They worked at an ice rink and knew exactly where there was plenty of snow.

Soon, Brooke’s family was heading to Bowness Sportsplex in Calgary.

TSA just crowned its 2026 Cutest Canine Contest winner, and the title belongs to Bolt. 🐶🏆❤️

Bolt is a 3-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer who works detecting explosives at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.

And apparently, being a hardworking airport security dog wasn’t enough.

He had to prove he was the cutest one, too. 😂🐾

Handlers across the country nominated 85 dogs for the competition.

TSA employees narrowed the field down to four regional finalists before the public took over on social media.

Bolt made it through the semifinal against Xaro, a 9-year-old German Shepherd from St. Louis.

Then came the final.

Bolt faced Ember, a Labrador Retriever from Orlando.

And the public chose Bolt. 🥹🏆

His handler, Daphne Wang, may have summed him up best, calling him “the buggiest-eyed 3-year-old German shorthaired pointer you will ever see.”

She also describes him as a hardworking little guy who absolutely loves coming to work.

TSA’s own description might be even better:

“He’s a flash of lightning and a little bit goofy.”

So now Bolt has an official title to go along with his important job.

Explosives detection dog.

Hard worker.

Professional goofball.

And apparently, America’s cutest TSA canine of 2026. 🐶❤️🏆

Their first day at home was rough, but she never gave up. ❤️🐶

Christina was traveling with friends when she spotted a small dog being attacked by two larger dogs.

They didn’t hesitate.

They rushed her to a veterinarian, where she received treatment and was checked for a microchip.

No owner could be found.

But every time Christina came to visit, the little dog greeted her with hugs. 🥹

It didn’t take long for those visits to mean more than just checking on a rescued dog.

Christina realized she couldn’t leave her behind.

She named her Lily and brought her home to meet her own dog, Tobis.

But their first day together wasn’t exactly perfect.

Around food, Lily became protective and went after Tobis, so Christina separated them during meals and gave them the time and space they needed to adjust.

There’s a specific kind of discomfort in watching a child hurt a dog while an adult nearby does nothing.

Because in that moment, there are two problems.

There’s the dog being hurt right now.

And there’s a child learning that hurting an animal can happen without anyone stopping them. 💔🐶

Dogs can’t explain what’s happening.

They can’t tell someone they’re scared or ask an adult to help.

They simply experience what’s happening and depend on the people around them to notice and intervene.

That’s why ignoring it can be so troubling.

Protecting the dog matters immediately.

But so does teaching the child that animals deserve to be treated with care and respect.

At the same time, stepping in when it’s someone else’s child can be complicated.

You don’t know the family.

You don’t know the circumstances.

And confronting a parent can quickly turn into an argument when the focus should be on stopping the animal from being hurt.

But if a dog is actively being harmed, waiting for someone else to intervene may mean allowing the harm to continue.

Sometimes the safest choice is to calmly stop the interaction first, then involve the parent or another responsible adult.

Because protecting an animal and correcting harmful behavior don’t have to be competing priorities.

Both can matter.

The dog needs someone to speak up.

And the child needs someone to teach them why what they’re doing isn’t okay.

He couldn’t drive past the crate sitting in the rain. 🥺🐶🌧️

On his way to work, a foster with God’s Dogs Rescue spotted something beside the interstate that made him pull over.

A crate.

Inside were eight tiny 5-week-old puppies, soaking wet and covered in fleas.

They had been left there with nowhere safe to go.

Thankfully, he didn’t keep driving.

He stopped.

And soon, a network of rescue volunteers came together to help the little litter.

The puppies were bathed, treated for fleas, given food and proper care, and placed into foster homes.

Now they’re warm.

They’re safe.

They’re gaining weight.

And they’re finally getting to experience what puppyhood is supposed to feel like. 🥹🐾

They’ll stay in foster care until they’re old enough and ready to find permanent families of their own.

Eight puppies could have been left beside that interstate, cold and helpless.

But one person decided that he couldn’t drive past them.

Sometimes a rescue starts with simply noticing something that everyone else could have ignored.

He saw a crate in the rain.

He stopped.

And eight little lives got a second chance. ❤️🐶🐾
