Hey Gang The 4th of July might be a celebration for us humans, but it can be terrifying for our animal companions. 😿🎆

Loud fireworks, strange noises, and unexpected chaos can leave cats (and all other animals) feeling extremely stressed. Here’s how to help:

✔️ Keep them indoors
✔️ Mask the noise with TV or music
✔️ Create a safe, cozy space to hide
✔️ Check their ID tags and microchips
✔️ Use calming aids like Stress Stopper
✔️ Skip the fireworks and stay home

Your presence and preparation can make all the difference for the animals you love. ❤️

We are currently overrun with kittens needing to find their forever homes but unfortunately without getting them spayed / neutered and vaccinated they are not able to be adopted. Can you help us on this step of the kittens journey to their new families?

Gen’s Pet Care will officially be closing on August 31st, 2025.

After nearly 10 years of pet sitting, this has been one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make. This little business has meant the world to me. As a small, disabled, queer-owned business, getting to care for your amazing pets has been an absolute joy and honor. I’m so grateful for the trust, support, and community you’ve shown me over the years.

As of today, July 2nd, we are no longer accepting new clients as we wind down.

Public Health - Seattle & King County recommends that people and pets stay out of the water at Magnuson Beach. Recent water tests found high bacteria levels and right now, the water here could make you sick.

Economic hardship has been a double-edged sword for our Pet Food Bank. While donations remain down, requests for support continue to increase as more families feel the sting of rising inflation. We provided what we could during today's walk-up hours, but there will be little left to provide in the coming days. So many pets and their people are struggling now, and we try not to call on our Rescue Squad too much if we can help it, but any amount of pet food you can donate at this time would be greatly appreciated. There is nothing you can provide that we have too much of at this time.
