Raccoons! My client in Mercer Island, and now my client in Queen Anne are having the same problems with raccoons coming into their yards and peeling up the sod to eat the grubs underneath. Wasn't sure how to deal with them, since you have to catch them in the act and it's usually when it's dark. A couple of times I managed to scare them off, but it's safest for everyone to do that by banging on the windows aggressively. Raccoons don't scare off easy. The neighbors to the Queen Anne property are having a trapper come I'm not sure what happens after they get trapped… I'll have to ask and let you know. The neighbors have a Dog maybe about 20 pounds, but it's not big enough to scare off the raccoons. In the past, a very large raccoon went after the dog and actually chased it into the house and up the stairs. It was bad. The owner hit the raccoon with a golf club before it ran back outside.
