Celebrating my hard working husband today on this Labor Day. His work often begins before sunrise and doesn’t end when the day does. This place couldn’t run without him.

We said goodbye to Rooster and Rowdy yesterday. They are off to their new home, and even though I know they went to a great place and great people, it is always a little bittersweet. Being there for every step from breeding to raising, we invest so much time and care into each and every calf. These boys were missed in the calf barn this morning.

This job feels like it might literally kill you some days, but I wouldn’t trade this land or this life for all the money in the world.
