Project Name: Adoptable Art
Goal: Bring awareness about shelter cats; shelter cats need volunteers to spend time with them and socialize them so they are adopted easier. Cats need comfort, pets, combing and playing while they are in the shelter. Project outline:
1. Locate your local shelter (I have made a list of some in the So. Cal area).
2. Make a date to go to the shelter and spend at leas
t 30 minutes of your time with the cats (You may need to sign up for a volunteer training program before they will let you do this.)
3. Pick one cat to focus on. Sketch, take photos, etc. so you have reference material to create your artwork.
4. Complete artwork and send me a photo of it. I will be making a page and/or website with the artwork
5. Donate artwork back to the shelter (make sure it is framed or presented in a way that looks like finished artwork).
6. If you are feeling especially up to it make a point to donate other much needed items to the shelter or sponsor your cat. Please let me know if you would like to participate or pass this along to anyone you believe could help. You don't have to be a working artist to participate, just love to produce art and love animals. Local Shelters:
