Rescues working together to save Meadow ❤️
🌿 MEADOW’S STORY — THIS IS WHY WE KEEP GOING 🌿
This past week, we lost five dogs, and our hearts are still heavy. Today, we want to share Meadow’s story—because she reminds us why we cannot give up.
Meadow came into the shelter as a stray—scared, lactating and appearing to have recently had puppies. She was incredibly sweet, but she was also heartworm positive and at risk of losing her life.
When Tail Lights Rescue Project reached out and asked if we could help Meadow, we immediately said YES. Then Animal Aid and Rescue Foundation ( AARF) stepped up and offered to sponsor her heartworm treatment.
Three organizations came together for one little dog who needed someone to fight for her. Tail Lights Rescue Project, AARF, and Companions each played a part in giving Meadow the chance she desperately needed.
Meadow went to our vet, began heartworm treatment, and was welcomed into a wonderful foster home. For months, her foster loved her, nurtured her and gave her the time she needed to heal.
Eventually, Meadow was tagged by a rescue and left on transport.
And then we received the most wonderful news:
MEADOW WAS ADOPTED. 🏡❤️
She wasn’t even there two weeks before this sweet girl found her forever family.
The scared mama who once wandered the streets alone is now healthy, loved and HOME. Meadow will never be abandoned, alone or wandering the streets again.
Her story is what happens when people and organizations work together instead of trying to do it alone. Rescues, fosters, donors, veterinary teams, transporters and everyone who shares these dogs—each piece matters.
This past week showed us the heartbreak of rescue.
Meadow reminds us why we keep going.
There will be another Meadow who needs us. And with organizations willing to work together and supporters like you standing behind us, we hope we can keep saying YES.
