Congratulations Alex Purus and The Good Ill Doo (Shiners Voodoo Dr x Flashy Lil Step x Wimpys Little Step)!!
Alex Purus and The Good Ill Do Sweep Three SWRHA Titles
Alex Purus and The Good Ill Do earned the Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 championships at the SWRHA Futurity, collecting more than $8,550.
The win had a personal connection for Purus, who raised the 2023 mare by Shiners Voodoo Dr out of Flashy Lil Step and her dam. He helped develop the mare before sending her to Trevor Dare.
“We raised her and we did a lot of the work on her,” said Purus. “Trevor Dare has had her for quite some time now and they have done a phenomenal job getting her and me ready to show.”
Purus was pleased with the performance but identified a few areas to refine before the NRHA Futurity in November. After futurity season, he hopes to continue showing the mare in derbies.
“I’ll probably keep her around and derby her for a little bit,” said Purus. “I enjoy her and my plan is to keep her around.”
Purus credited his family, girlfriend and Dare for their support in helping him reach the winner’s circle.
