We introduced you to 3 year old Capone a few weeks ago, but he’s shockingly still spending most of his time in our animal rescue center waiting for his turn to arrive. His look is saying, “Why am I still here?! Am I not lovable?” 🥹

If you’re not in the market to adopt, guess what: Capone wants you to know that he is 100% ready and available to be a well behaved house guest if you’re willing to foster him until he gets his big break! Take a chance on him. He’ll reward you with so much affection—and many laughs. That’s a promise!

Capone’s perfect day would consist of waking up feeling safe in a home, going on a nice walkie, or having a nice romp session with a canine friend who can match his playful energy. He enjoys playing fetch and entertaining himself with plenty of toys, too! 🧸 Capone is also eager to bond with his people and truly just wants to be included as a family member he truly deserves to be…

💚 Consider giving this beautiful boy the big break he so deserves. Fostering him may just change his entire life: https://www.fetchingtailsfoundation.org/foster-dogs/capone.

At just one year old, Granby has already experienced more uncertainty than any dog should.

He came from Texas looking for a fresh start, carrying with him a big personality, endless enthusiasm, and a heart that desperately wants to belong. Beneath the playful antics, zoomies, and goofy grin is a young dog still learning that the world can be a safe place.

Granby isn’t a “perfect” dog. He has things he’s working on. He needs patience. He needs guidance. He needs someone willing to understand him instead of giving up on him.

But isn’t that what love is?

Because the truth is, Granby is trying.

Every single day

He’s potty trained. Crate trained. He sleeps peacefully through the night. He knows his commands and loves learning new things. He looks to his people for direction and thrives when given structure, encouragement, and a chance to succeed.

Somewhere out there is someone who won’t be intimidated by his quirks. Someone who will see beyond the challenges and recognize the incredible dog waiting underneath. Someone who will give him the chance he’s been hoping for.

Granby has so much life ahead of him.

He just needs someone willing to share it.

Could that someone be you?

Just over a year old, Nanna should be spending her days curled up on a couch, loved and spoiled by her people. Instead, this beautiful girl found herself alone on the streets of Texas before ending up in a shelter.

What makes Nanna so special isn’t just her beautiful face—it’s her resilience. After being abandoned and overlooked, she still chooses trust. She still believes her person is out there.

At around 40 pounds, Nanna is the perfect size for adventures and cuddles alike. She’s dog-friendly, potty trained, and has the sweetest, puppyish personality. She loves playing with her canine friends, showing off her social butterfly side, and after some exercise and fun, she’s content to settle in close for affection and companionship.

Please help us find the happy ending this sweet girl deserves.

18 dogs found their forever homes in May!

Eighteen tails are wagging a little harder, eighteen dogs are sleeping in their own beds, and eighteen families are a little more complete.

Every adoption is a reminder of why we do what we do. Thank you to our adopters, fosters, volunteers, donors, and supporters who help make these happy endings possible.

While we’re celebrating these 18 amazing adoptions, many wonderful dogs are still waiting for their turn. Their forever families are out there—we just need to help them find each other- https://www.fetchingtailsfoundation.org/dogs-to-adopt

Here’s to the dogs who found home this month and to the ones still waiting. Your day is coming.

Rango never expected to lose everything he knew.

This 1-year-old, 73lb Sheepadoodle was surrendered to a southern Illinois shelter through absolutely no fault of his own. His owner was evicted and is now homeless, forcing the heartbreaking decision to give up a beloved dog they could no longer care for.

Now Rango sits in a loud, unfamiliar shelter, surrounded by barking dogs and constant noise. The shelter staff report that he is terrified. Imagine going from having a home and a family to suddenly being alone in a kennel, not understanding why your whole world changed overnight.

What makes this even harder is that Rango is such a good boy. He loves people, gets along with other dogs and cats, and recently went in for a full shave-down because his coat had become badly matted. Even through all the stress and uncertainty, he was wonderful for his spa day.

He doesn’t need much. Just a couch, a quiet corner, and a soft bed.

We’re desperately looking for a foster home so Rango doesn’t have to continue experiencing shelter life. He deserves a chance to decompress, feel safe, and remember what it feels like to be loved.

Starting Monday, Rango needs a place to go. Can you be the person who changes his story? Can you be the soft landing this scared young dog is hoping for?

Nine years ago, a tiny puppy with parvo entered our city shelter with an uncertain future. We rescued him, helped him heal, and eventually he was adopted into a home.

Eight years later, Milo found his way back to us. As heartbreaking as that was, it turned out to be exactly where he needed to be.

For the past year, our shelter in Schaumburg has been Milo’s safe place. He isn’t an easy dog. Because he was never properly socialized, he is very selective about the people he trusts. But once you’re in Milo’s circle, you’re in forever.

Over the last year, about 20 dedicated volunteers earned that trust. And the love Milo gave back was unlike anything we can describe. He loved his people fiercely, completely, and unconditionally.

Along the way, a wonderful couple also earned a spot in Milo’s very exclusive club. They saw him for who he is, understood his challenges, and embraced every part of him—including his intensive allergy needs. They are committed to giving him everything he needs to thrive.

Today, that couple is adopting Milo. Today is his final Adoption Day and he gets to spend his golden years in his final and forever home. So Happy Gotcha Day Milo!

Some dogs, like Espresso, fill your world with warmth and love, like a great cup of coffee☕️

At 5 years old and 54 pounds, this stunning German Shepherd mix is the perfect blend of adventure buddy and cuddle companion. One minute he’s trotting happily beside you on a long walk, ears up and tail wagging… the next, he’s curled up beside you on the couch just grateful to be near his person.

Espresso has already mastered so much:
✔️ Potty trained
✔️ Crate trained
✔️ Knows commands like sit, come, lay down & shake
✔️ Loves chew toys
✔️ Dog friendly with calm dogs

But what Espresso truly wants to learn… is what it feels like to finally be home.

This sweet boy can be a little nervous meeting new people, but once you earn his trust, his affectionate and goofy personality shines bright. He’s incredibly smart, eager to learn, and forms deep bonds with the people he loves. The kind of bond that turns ordinary mornings into your favorite part of the day.

✨ His adoption fee is SPONSORED ✨

Apply today and ask to meet Espresso — because the best things in life are worth waking up for. ☕
