Meet your new best friend, Piper! 🐶

🐾 1 Year Old
🐾 Female

Hello! My name is Piper, and at just about a year old, I suffered a trauma to my back leg that required removal for recovery. Now, I am fully healed up and ready to find my furever person/family! I can be shy when we first meet, but give me some time, and I’m ready to meet and greet you. I am GREAT with other dogs and kids, too!

Don’t let the idea that I am a tripod make you think I am deterred by anything. I can run, jump on the couch or bed, and do anything a four-legged pup can do.

I can be crated if needed, but I have free run of the house in my foster home and no problems. I will come to my new home up to date on my shots, spayed, and house-trained. Now I am just looking for that special someone who sees how special I am!

If you'd like to meet me, please fill out a pre-adoption application:

Foster found!

Sweet Leita is a 4-5 year old French Bulldog who was confiscated from a neglectful home. She is VERY dog friendly, and does well with cats and kids. We'd love to find her a soft place to land with us! 🥰🐾

Leita is heart worm positive so she will need to go thru heart worm treatment - which the rescue covers- but during treatment her foster or foster to adopt home will need to limit her activity.

Arrival 10/31 if we can find a foster home for her! 🐾🌸🐾https://chicagolanddogrescue.org/foster-application/?gf_page_4=1

These are never the posts we want to make about any of our CDR dogs but this one is particularly tough. Our girl Oaklyn who waited over a year to get adopted is being returned. 😢

Her owner is wonderful but realizes that Oaklyn is not quite the right fit for where she lives now and what she can give her. So she's made the difficult decision to reach out to us to return Oaklyn. And we need help finding a place for her to land. 🙏

Oaklyn is an AMAZING dog! She is almost 3 years old and probably close to 90+ pounds now. She is house trained, crate trained and knows basic obedience.

BUT she's also not the type to just fit in any home with any person. She is nervous meeting new people and takes some time to warm up. Routine and activities like her foster mom used to take her to (like barn hunt/scent work pictured below) did wonders for her.

She's dog friendly but comes on strong at first so slow intros and a dog that is tolerant of big oaf greetings would be helpful. 😅

She really needs a home that will help build her confidence, show her what's expected.

Oaklyn's foster mom is willing to take her back but right now she has two other fosters in her home and there's just not room. If you're not a fit for Oaklyn please share this post and/or check out one of the other available fosters and let's see if we can open up a spot in a home that Oaklyn is familiar with which would make the transition back easier!

Meet your two new best friends, Spuds and Winnie! 🐶

🐾 Seniors (Approximately 10 Years Old)
🐾 Female and Male

Hello! We’re Spuds and Winnie, a bonded duo looking for our furever home together. After our beloved owner passed away, Chicagoland Dog Rescue stepped in to give us a soft place to land while we search for the perfect family. We’ve been together for 10 years, but don’t let our age fool you—we still have plenty of pep and lots of love to give!

Spuds here! I’m a happy-go-lucky, yard-loving guy who could spend all day exploring outside (sometimes my foster dad has to convince me to come in!). I have a cute, quiet bark to let you know what I need, walk great on a leash, and still love to run and jump. I’m short-haired, easy to groom, and a big fan of food—so I do best eating in my own space.

And I’m Winnie—or Win for short! I’m very sweet, super cuddly, and will happily curl up in your arms. I also enjoy playing with other dogs and keeping up with the fun. Loud noises can scare me, so a calmer home would be ideal. I do take medication for a heart murmur, but it doesn’t slow me down one bit.

Together, we’re the perfect mix of fun, companionship, and unconditional love. 💛
