🚨🚨URGENT FOSTERS NEEDED🚨🚨

We unexpectedly took in 3 male puppies and with them being 8 weeks old and no one stepping up and able to take them in, we couldn’t leave them there during one of our shelter runs.

If the below applies to you:
•available for at least 4 weeks fostering
•have another friendly dog (must be spayed/neutered and current on vaccines)
•open to loving on another furry family member until adoption
•local to Orange County (our vets are in Huntington Beach and Villa Park)

Happy 60th Birthday to our Rescue President, Steve! 🐾🎈

They say some people are born to be dog people, but we think Steve might have skipped the toddler phase entirely and went straight to “distinguished gentleman dog person” 😎

To celebrate his milestone 60th birthday, we did a little digging into the archives and uncovered these totally real, completely unedited photos of Steve growing up.

As you can see, the glasses, the iconic goatee, and the absolute obsession with dogs have been there since day one!

In all seriousness, Mutts in Need wouldn’t be the same without you, Steve. Ginger, our 100% purebred potato dog, is still looking for her ultimate lounging partner! At just 1.5 years old and a very compact 21 pounds, she is the ideal size for cuddles, naps, and maximum couch estate.
Ginger is the ultimate family girl and is wonderfully kid-friendly, making her a sweet, gentle addition to the household.

However, this little potato likes to be the center of your universe and must be the only dog in the home. While she can be polite around other dogs out and about, she absolutely does not believe in sharing her castle, her treats, or her dinner bowl—she wants all your love (and snacks) entirely to herself!

A little late to the feed, but never short on gratitude.

❤️🤍💙 Today, we took a moment to honor the brave heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

Here at the rescue, we’re keeping that spirit of service alive the best way we know how—by fighting for the vulnerable, giving second chances, and making sure every dog knows what freedom and safety truly feel like.

What we’ve been up to this Memorial Day weekend... ❤️
While everyone was fired up for the long weekend, we were rushing to pull this tiny 7-week-old guy from the shelter as he is fighting a case of Parvo.

The amazing team at the LBC urgent care vet took such incredible care of him, and honestly, his will to live is absolutely unmatched—for such a tiny pup, he has so much s***k and fight in him. He’s safe in a medical isolation foster home right now, but it’s up to us to see this all the way through so he can get healthy and finally prepare for adoption.

As a rescue, the medical expenses literally never stop, so if you have a few dollars to spare, we would be so incredibly grateful if you’d consider sponsoring his care. Every little bit helps us and keep saving fighters just like him! 🙏✨

Meet Scooter — a roughly 1 year old, 10 pound Chihuahua mix with the biggest ears and an even bigger personality 🤩

This confident little guy ended up at the shelter through absolutely no fault of his own, and now he’s ready to find the forever home he deserves. Scooter is the perfect mix of playful and smart — he LOVES showing off his tricks for treats and is always eager to learn more. He’s great on leash, enjoys adventures, and carries himself like a much bigger dog in a tiny body.
