WHY GREEN?

In several early American and European watch systems, night watchmen the predecessors to modern security and police carried lanterns while patrolling after dark. One tradition dating back to the 17th century held that watchmen carried lanterns with green glass panels so citizens could easily identify them as members of the watch.

Hundreds of years later, the color green still carries that legacy. Today, many security companies utilize green auxiliary lighting on their vehicles as a visible symbol of protection, presence, and vigilance. Green is also featured on our patch, representing the watch and the long standing tradition of standing guard over people, property, and communities.

HIRING SECURITY OFFICERS

Pay: $30.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time & Part-Time Opportunities Available
Location: Southern Maine

MJS Security Services is currently seeking professional Security Officers to join our team. Our officers work in a variety of environments, including residential communities, commercial properties, construction sites, hospitality locations, and public-access facilities.

What You’ll Do
• Provide a visible security presence
• Conduct patrols and inspections
• Deter trespassing, theft, disorderly behavior, and crime
• Interact professionally with the public
• Write clear and accurate reports
• Respond appropriately to incidents and emergencies

Requirements
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to remain alert, professional, and calm under pressure
• Prior security, public safety, military, or law enforcement experience preferred (not required)
• Must pass a background check
• Age 18+

MJS Security Services is officially lowering the minimum hiring age from 21 to 18 years old.

We believe professionalism, accountability, and maturity are not defined by age alone. At 18 years old, individuals are already trusted to serve in the military, fire service, EMS, and many other positions with serious responsibility. We believe the security industry should be no different. With proper training, supervision, and standards, motivated young adults can build successful careers in security and public safety. Our goal is to develop the next generation of professional security officers earlier, stronger, and with higher standards from day one. This industry needs more real professionals and we’re ready to start building them.

At MJS Security Services, we are always looking for equipment that gives our officers the best performance without unnecessary cost. Recently, we got our hands on the Osight SE, and so far we’re impressed with what it brings to the table for the price point. Over the summer, we’ll be putting this optic through real world testing in daily patrol operations, training, and range work to see how it truly performs under pressure. Reliability, durability, battery life, and ease of use all matter when equipment is trusted in the field. If the Osight SE continues to perform the way we expect, there’s a very real possibility this could become the new standard optic for MJS Security Services moving forward.
