Our young Nutter 🦆 with a broken neck came up with a moderate lameness 2 days ago. She may have gotten injured running around, or from another flock mate. We're giving her some rest away from the mean girls and medications for pain. She's already showing some improvement. 🤞

We know this dude; he lives in our front yard and comes out to scare the 💩 out of me every few weeks. We use our snake tongs (we got this donated to us from our Amazon wishlist!) to move him so he can go about his business and I can go about mine.

Arnie, Gilbert and Becky had their vaccines and deworming yesterday with .
⭐️ Kudos to the veterinary nurse, Lisa, who can vaccinate and deworm with one hand on the cat and one hand doing the meds. SKILLS. ⭐️

We discovered that after a little time to grow, Gilbert is actually a GIRL based on exam and not a boy. 3 lovely girls in this group ❤️. We're fostering them for , and they'll be spayed once they reach the minimum weight, then up for adoption. For now, they get weaned with us and play nonstop.

2 years ago, I held my first bee frame with , and then my interest in bees took off. I joined beeekeper associations, took veterinary bee classes, taught my kids about bees, taught Jon about bees, took more classes...

Over the last year, I've studied, practiced queen rearing, hive inspections, honey tasting, and passed the Ambassador, Apprentice, and Journey certifications. Today, I completed the final certification in the California Master Beekeeper Program with UC Davis. Master Beekeeper level unlocked! Time to celebrate with my bees!

I had the kittens at work with me, so naturally, had to take them with us to the kids' dentist appointment and feed them in the waiting room. Why people were staring at me have no idea. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 😂

We're fostering Gilbert, Arnie and Becky for . They are attached at the hip to me and start screaming at the top of their lungs when they see me. Today, they stayed home with Jon so I could get some work done. 😆
