the little hop and jog at the end so you KNOW she ain’t playin 🔥😂👵

lucy is so cute and funny. her days consist of eating (and forgetting that she has just eaten 🤣), getting her beauty sleep, and begrudging going out for potty breaks.

she loves to wander and explore but she usually doesn’t go too far. yesterday though she took a very long walk out to the boonies and back to remind us all who she really is 💪

ever had a dog with epilepsy? 😟💔

alfie has dealt with this his whole life so it’s nothing new, but this past week was a stressful one for him 🥺 he’s taking it easy and we are keeping things extra low key 🤍

two of his male fam members also have the same condition but alfie has it the worst. his grandpa and his uncle both had episodes, but they were very minor and all stopped around age 3.

alfie’s are very intense 😔 they are the scariest personally that i have ever seen.

but we are used to this, and so is he. he doesn’t even know what is happening while they are occurring.

still, it’s a lot when he is dealing with an episode. the aftermath is chaotic as well. during which, alfie goes into somewhat of a “manic state” where he is extremely excitable, loud, anxious and rambunctious.

these episodes also get the dogs concerned. they know when they are coming; and even give me signals the day of that he will prob be having some medical issues. sure enough, something usually ends up happening

one interesting fact about the seizures is that i ALWAYS have to be extremely on guard and prepared for what could come with him, and that means never letting alfie be around too many dogs at once.

they love him, but if he’s having an episode some will actually go into fight mode because they’re so confused and panicked. the concern leads to a brawl. imagine that chaos 👀 no thank you.

please think some good thoughts or send a prayer his way. just want this boy feeling amazing every second. love him so much 🖤

thank you so much guys, we really appreciate each and every one of you.

sweet tilly is the best girl, and we are so happy she wasn’t euthanized that fateful day in the shelter.

PS. we usually try to ask for a little dog food help on sundays, but we didn’t really post last week.

sorry to ask saturday AND sunday but the dogs appreciate the support EVERY day of the week 🍽️

SIR PETEY THE GREAT WILL NOW ACCEPT HIS MOST DELICIOUS TREAT 👑🙏😇

10/14/2026

very proud of petey and tilly for tolerating each other in the same room! they are next-door sleeping neighbors in their crates at night, and are doing great 😊

they used to really get agitated when they saw each other but as time has gone on they’ve become much more relaxed.

usually i will guide matilda in and out of her crate and kinda block petey’s zone, but last night she was able to trot right into her crate herself without needing any assistance!

she didn’t even acknowledge petey’s presence and vice versa 👏

so proud of them! 🥳😍

i do want to get tilly a 42 inch crate as her current one is 36 inches. it has a decent amount of room in it, considering she’s a tiny lil thang… but compared to baby’s yacht 🛥️ of a crate, it’s peanuts!

miss minnie, the big brindle beautiful bull in a china shop 🐂😇

all our doggies here have their very own “outdoor kennel” (i prefer the term “cabana” or “bungalow” bc it’s much cuter, and less “prison-sentence-y”)

it’s where they eat. it’s where they lounge during private + quiet chill time. it’s where they enjoy a good ol’ yak chew or bully stick without another dog trying to start WWIII over it.

it’s peace of mind for both the dog(s) and the humans. even if they are super nonchalant with other dogs, they *still* have a kennel.

we know with 100% certainty we can put minnie in here, a very determined, tenacious, diva-licious, strong-as-heck lady (who does not like other ladies *just like her* bc she thinks they’re the fake temu version), and feel 100% confident that she will be safe and secure.

she can socialize through the kennel with dogs, or she can social distance with dogs she has issues with.

that day-in/day-out “social distancing” has helped a ton. there was once a time when mona and minnie couldn’t even see each other without throwing major temper tantrums.

just merely coexisting in close proximity is like the most basic form of exposure therapy, but it has shown these two crazy ladies that there is zero need to get riled up by one another. it does nothing for either dog, and serves them no purpose in the end.

i can’t wait to get minnie a full sized turf pad from home depot. she loves to turn her kennel into a mud bath/excavation site. her current turf pad works okay, but only covers half. it was initially used in a different kennel for a bit.

the ones we get are $115 at home depot but they need to have proper drainage otherwise they’re basically a sponge. ick.. no thank you. 🙂‍↔️

also need to get minnie an aluminum kuranda bed, but that’s nothing new. this is the 3rd Kuranda bed with plastic PVC pipes that she’s entirely dismantled. it’s now simply a fabric carpet, but it works til she can get her sturdier bed.

love this extra happy brindle babygirl. she’s full of affection for people and she truly gives the world’s best hugs. there is nothing like a minnie hug 🫂
