Being a doggie Auntie is the best! It’s just me n George tonight and it’s easy to have lots of fun with him even if for a short period of time. I’ve already taught him a new trick! ( he’s super smart because my sister and my niece started him off on the right paw with training when they got him at 8 weeks!)

Do you have a New Puppy?

Wondering when to start training?

My answer? -> yesterday 😊

Come join us in one of our upcoming small group puppy classes! Currently offered in Encinitas, Saturdays and Sundays.

Why is it so important to get outdoors with your dog?

• It provides physical exercise to keep you both active, healthy, and strong.

• New sights, sounds, and smells provide valuable mental enrichment.

• Exploring together strengthens your bond and creates joyful memories.

Please note: Off-leash activities are not recommended unless your dog has been positively trained and has a solid, reliable recall history. Always follow local leash laws and choose a safe, appropriate environment.

Drop the name of your favorite place to take your dog in your town!

It’s really easier than you think to help reduce unwanted behavior like barking when visitors come to the door.

Whether taping a piece of paper or sticky note to the front door or getting a lovely, creative sign like my client has here, notifying your guests to what you want them to do /not do has several benefits when it comes to training those front door manners.

* Prevents the surprise trigger. A sudden knock or doorbell can send an excited or anxious dog straight into barking before you have a chance to help them.

* Gives you time to prepare. Ask visitors to text instead, so you can settle your dog on their mat, offer a chew, or give them space by putting them in another room before opening the door.

* Makes training more manageable.
Fewer unexpected arrivals mean more chances to practice calm greetings at your dog’s pace.

How does your dog do when unexpected visitors show up?
