California Cottonwood with Spalting and with a hint of Burl, a rare beauty for sure. I intentionally left a thick lid to carve but I just couldn’t get myself to carve over the gorgeous wood that Mother Nature has created. I love how it turned out.

Oh Buckeye, you amaze me everyday. This gorgeous Fruit bowl will be available this weekend at the San Diego Made Summer Market.

Liberty Station this weekend on August 15 and 16 from 10 am to 5 pm to highlight and support local artists and small businesses. This is a two-day outdoor market in Ingram Plaza where over 160 curated local makers will display and sell their creative products. This bowl and many of my creations will be available too.

It’s hard for me to put myself out there and show my work in person. I’m very critical like most artists but I’m getting better and my confidence is growing.

I recently entered these two pieces in the Del Mar State Fair in San Diego not sure where it would go, much less be chosen to participate. Not only was I accepted, but one was honorably mentioned and both were sold. I’m always grateful for the opportunities that present themselves to me and the constant learning about myself, my art and my life.

I absolutely love how this bowl turned out. She was challenging for sure (see process video) but she turned out the way she was ment to be.
