I think he likes me just a little 🤏
This is my Eli guy. On March 23rd, 2025 I drove to Fallbrook to pick up 3 goats whose mom rejected them.
“Also… one of them isn’t doing too good…”
He was talking about Eli.
Eli was the 4th of surprise quadruplets 😳 so, those of you out there who know about childbirth know that things contract and expel the fluid in their lungs. Well, for Eli, that didn’t happen so not only did mom reject him & act hostile to him (Mr. Tom obviously didn’t know s**t about bottle feeding and the patience it entails.
So Eli has somebody trying to stick a ni**le in his mouth (scary…?) and to top it off, he has pneumonia 😢
I rushed him to my friends’ sanctuary - the vet was too far away - cuz I knew she had Draxxin. Twice on the ride from Ramona to Ranchita, I thought he died on me.
So I told him, “Alright NuPine (Nubian/Alpine mix) #4, if you can pull through I promise you and your brother will NEVER be alone, you’ll always have each other.”
The 3rd goat was “given to a high school girl”…
I didn’t have time for that.
Eli weighed 2.5 pounds at the max (they were just over 2 days old) so we did the math on how much Draxxin needed at that weight and also gave him some actual goat milk with colostrum (a rescued mama had given birth to a stillborn) even though we weren’t even sure if it would absorb.
As we bottle feeding Eli (just took some patience) it turned 12:01am.
I had officially rescued 2 baby goats ON MY BIRTHDAY 🎂

Fast forward to last Friday when this pic was taken.
Eli and I have an unspeakably strong bond. Sure, so does Benson but I saved Eli’s life - and he knows it. He was sick and the last thing he saw was me.
Upon waking up and feeling better, he saw me.

They live at Fortuna Ranch Farm Sanctuary in lovely North County San Diego.
As much as I wanted to be a “foster fail”, it was in their best interests that they go to a sanctuary and that’s what I always operate on - the best interest of the animal.

Eli is growing up sooooooo fast!
For those of you who don’t know, I rescued Benson and Eli -  two baby goats out of surprise quadruplets. However, that works. Eli was almost dead when he was given to me. He was deadweight in my arms. With some fast action from friends and some medicine, he felt better. He was 2.5 days old and he had pneumonia. We could hear the fluid in his lungs. He fit in the palm of my hand. This is him now, six weeks old today!

I’m gonna get a chance to post more on here.
I do a lot on Instagram because that’s how I communicate with most of the sanctuaries/rescue peeps 😊

This is Pixie. She resides at Ruby Slipper Goat Rescue in Kansas. Pixie had her feet chewed off by rats but has adapted quite well 🖤
She definitely liked me 🖤

These two cuties were also offered up on CL, first come, first served. They were headed to a butcher who was “going to give them a good home”.
Well, we know what that means 😡
So I intervened and headed to Lake Elsinore. The little black one is super human-oriented but her friend (white one) is not so sure of humans. They had a good freedom ride to Little Bitty Animal Sanctuary and are now going to live out their lives with the best care! Side note: one of them turned the dome light on with their horn and I thought they were trying to get out of the car (not possible from the inside) on Temecula Parkway 😬.
I love them.
