🚨🆘 DIEGO NEEDS PLACEMENT BY 9/8 AT 11:00 AM CST — HE WILL BE KILLED IF NO ONE STEPS FORWARD.
Diego is a 2-year-old, 61-lb unaltered male at Dallas Animal Services. His ID is D051297623. He is heartworm negative. He was found as a stray on Hampton Rd in Dallas.
Diego is timid. He is scared. He is still building confidence and learning that new people and experiences can be safe. Around other dogs, he keeps to himself and may shy away when approached. He prefers gentle interactions at his own pace.
The shelter has labeled him as aggressive during exams. But look closer: whale eyes, stiff posture, growling when approached with a catch pole. That is not aggression. That is fear. Diego is terrified. He is overwhelmed. He is shutting down in a loud, chaotic environment where he has no safe place to decompress.
DIEGO IS NOT A BAD DOG. HE IS A SCARED DOG.
He needs a patient, understanding home that can give him the time and space he needs to settle in. He needs someone who sees past the growl and recognizes a dog who is asking for help the only way he knows how.
WHAT DIEGO NEEDS:
🏡 An experienced foster who understands fearful dogs
🐾 A rescue willing to pull him and give him time
❤️ An adopter who will let him decompress at his own pace
💰 Pledges to help cover his care and make him more appealing to rescues
