Graysville Police Department Conducts Traffic Stop Resulting in Drug Arrest

Graysville, TN — On April 28, 2026, officers with the Graysville Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a red passenger vehicle entering the city limits. During the stop, officers made contact with the driver, identified as Kayla Moore.

A K-9 unit conducted a free-air sniff of the vehicle, during which K-9 sniper alerted to the presence of narcotics. Based on this alert, officers conducted a search of the vehicle. During the search, officers located digital scales, small plastic baggies commonly associated with the distribution of narcotics, and a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine.

A total of approximately 5 grams of the suspected methamphetamine was recovered and seized, with portions located inside the vehicle and on Ms. Moore’s person.

Ms. Moore was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Rhea County Detention Center for booking.

The Graysville Police Department remains committed to protecting the community and actively working to keep dangerous drugs off the streets. Through proactive enforcement and continued vigilance, the department strives to ensure the safety and well-being of its citizens.

Red River County Sheriff’s Office K9 Stingray has received donation of body armor

Red River County Sheriff’s Office, TX, K9 Stingray has received a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. K9 Stingray’s vest was sponsored by Brittany Sims of Greenville, TX and embroidered with the sentiment “In memory of K9 Officer Phil Prather”.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., established in 2009, is a 501(c)(3) charity whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States. This potentially lifesaving body armor for four-legged K9 officers is U.S. made, custom fitted, and National Institute of Justice (NIJ) certified. Since its inception, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. has provided over 6,348 vests valued at $6.9 million to K9s in all 50 states, made possible by both private and corporate donations.

The program is open to U.S. dogs at least 20 months old and actively employed and certified with law enforcement or related agencies. K9s with expired vests are also eligible to participate. There are an estimated 30,000 law enforcement K9s throughout the United States.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., accepts tax-deductible contributions in any amount, while a single donation of $1,050 will sponsor one vest.
