Just Dogs with Dawn I graduated, with honors, as a Certified Dog Trainer from Animal Behavior College, in Valencia, CA. I provide “in-home” positive reinforcement dog training.

I perform “in-home” dog training, meaning I go to the client’s house for training and I teach basic obedience behaviors. I graduated, with honors, as a Certified Dog Trainer from Animal Behavior College, in Valencia, CA in 2016. It is easier for your dog to focus on you and listen to you when he, or she, is in the own environment. Services Provided:

Happy Sunday my dog loving friends! Just a reminder, now that Fall is here, acorns are falling from the trees & our dogs love their crunch! However, did you know that acorns can be harmful, even fatal, to our dogs? It’s so important that we prevent our precious fur babies from eating acorns & one way to do that is to supervise your dog when letting him/her outside. If they sn**ch up an acorn play the “trade” game w/them by holding a treat right up to their nose - your dog will drop the acorn every time! Or you can put your dog on leash before going outside to prevent them from getting an acorn. We have to protect our pups because they’ll eat anything, right!?😊

Dogs pick up on our body language more than our verbal language, which is important when walking your dog. If you are tense your dog will be tense. Stand up straight, keep your shoulders down & relaxed, let your arms hang loose by your side, & hold the leash loosely. That’s it! Now go & enjoy a nice calm walk with your fur baby!

Giving a shout out to all my dog lover friends - howdy! Just a quick reminder that we are in the summer months now and it's very important that you protect your dog from the heat. Your dog still needs to go for daily walks so no blaming the weather for not walking - that's a big no no! That being said, make sure you walk your dog in the early morning or late evening. Additionally, do not leave your dog outside all day. You would think this is common knowledge but unfortunately it's not. I even have a neighbor who leaves his dog outside 24/7 - it drives me absolutely mad! Make sure your dog has plenty of water throughout the day and most importantly, never leave your dog alone in a car. Again, you would think this is common knowledge but according to statistics on the number of dogs who die each year from heat exhaustion, due to being left alone in a car, it is sadly not. Let's take care of our fur babies this summer, after all they depend on us to know what's best for them.

3 don’ts about potty training ur puppy: 1) DON’T punish ur puppy for potty accident’s - this will only make them afraid of u; 2) DON’T give ur puppy full rein of the house, instead control their environment; 3) DON’T wait for ur puppy to let u know they need potty; take them out every hour when home & awake & take them out every 2-3 hours during the nite. This should only last 2-3 weeks if ur consistent.
