Some of the best moments in training aren’t the commands, the structure, or the progress… it’s the connection.

This photo of Hank and me was taken during a training break, and it’s one of those moments that perfectly captures what we’re really building. Trust, calm, and a dog that feels safe enough to just be.

On National Hug Your Dog Day, take a second to slow down and appreciate your dog for who they are, not just what they’re learning.

Training builds the relationship… but moments like this are why we do it. 🤍

Welcome Max to Luke’s Lodge 💛

Max is joining us for a three week board and train, and we are so excited to have this sweet mini poodle.

Over the next few weeks we’ll be building clarity, confidence, and communication. Expect updates as he learns, grows, and shows us more of that classic poodle brain and charm.

Reverie, Valkyrie and Zephyr had their first Home Depot adventure.

Automatic doors, carts rolling, new people, big smells… and they handled it like little pros. We kept it short, positive, and focused on calm check-ins.

Confidence is built in moments like these.

Fluffier coats, brighter eyes, and just enough holiday mischief to keep things festive around the lodge.

The Liminal Litter is here and we’re so happy for Allie and her sweet puppies. If you’d like to follow along with their journey, you can do that over on Mezzo Poodles.
Boarding and training at Luke’s Lodge will keep going like normal. We’re just enjoying a little extra puppy joy around here.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Glen is officially graduating from his board and train program today. Earlier in the week we celebrated his progress with a little field trip to Screaming Goat, where he got to practice his manners, soak up the nice weather, and enjoy a calm evening out. He handled everything like a champ and made us so proud.

Zelda wrapped up her two-week board and train with a great turnover today! The turnover is the go-home lesson where we show the family everything their dog has learned and how to keep it going at home. Zelda’s boy was so excited to have her back and start working together. We can’t wait to see how they grow as a team!

Our two-week e-collar board and train program is designed to build clear communication, confidence, and reliable obedience both on and off leash. It helps dogs understand what’s being asked of them, even around distractions, while creating a calm, trusting partnership with their handler.

Zelda is doing incredible in her program. She’s gaining confidence, focusing beautifully during her sessions, and showing just how smart and willing she is. We’re so proud of her progress and can’t wait to share more of her journey as she continues to grow.
