Long time no see.

This is my formal announcement of the closing of CCD, a change that happened over 6 months ago now. Sunny has been rehomed and is happy and healthy with his new family.

These days you can find me creating art on on Instagram (like this linocut portrait of my late horse Zuko).

I've found that most of my passion lies in the education area of instruction and training, and that's what I've found myself doing these days. I currently work running youth programs for a local UU church and am returning to school this semester for a BFA in art education with hopes of becoming a high school art teacher.

Thank you for the support in this chapter of my life. I hope to return to it someday in some capacity. In the meantime, see you later ❤️

Sunny and I moved farms on Friday to focus on our dressage education for awhile. He is settling in very nicely and meeting lots of new friends (and a handsome stranger in the mirror...)

In Michigan the past few days have had a windchill in the teens and plenty of snow.

Due to his racing days, Sunny is mildly arthritic just about everywhere. Sudden cold snaps like this can make stiffness and pain caused by arthritis worse than usual. Ensuring movement is key in keeping him comfortable. I prefer to keep my horse at liberty these days, with a lot of focus on walk work.

Lessons are also reformatted, with emphasis on on-the-ground education for rider and horse, and sometimes plain classroom time in a heated tack room. Love my reference books at times like this! and 's books are both vital.

Totally forgot to post about attending a clinic two weeks ago-- got to ride with Christian Bachinger of the Spanish Riding School.

Had a lovely, educational ride for myself and a previous client horse, Romeo.

Thank you to .equestrian.center and Sidney for hosting.

Two years since Zuko died, today.

It both feels like a lifetime ago and that we were just out competing last weekend.

I am content to know that he is lived on through myself-- I wish he could know about the Summer campers who all know his name, or my lesson students who hear stories of a scared little rescue Arabian horse who became my best friend. His life defined my career in the horse industry. I see him in every sunset and feel him in every ride.

Without Zuko, I would not be the horseman, instructor, coach, or person I am today. I miss him more than anything.

Sweet Sunny today. We have been focusing on riding with a better posture/ keeping his chest open and chin lifted. He wants to fall into habits of wanting to lean on the forehand with a closed chin and suck behind the vertical, so it's definitely a work in progress!

Forever impressed with his work ethic and ability to adapt to new situations. Today we rode while the neighbor was making cartoonishly loud construction noises and his bff was screaming for him and he didn't give a care in the world.

🦄 proudly offered for your consideration, currently located in SE, Michigan. I cannot say enough good things about this horse-- but let's give it a shot.

Fateen is a 13 year old, petite 15hh chestnut Arabian gelding. I can put 5 year olds to 50 year olds on him, and everybody will have a good, safe ride. Due to his size, Fateen is best suited for juniors, children, or small adult riders.

He has jumped up to 2'9 in our program, been ridden by a variety of riders from w/t kids to adults learning how to put a course together. Worked pony camp this Summer and was a fan favorite of the kids. He is a babysitter when he needs to be, but also knows how to have fun with the more advanced riders. This horse has a heart of gold, and I have never seen him put a foot wrong or offer any buck/bolt/bite/rear.

He has some showing experience under his belt, we have taken him to local schooling shows with students.

Only selling as our program is downsizing and we want him to find his person. A good home is paramount for him, this horse has been the best coworker and co-teacher I could have asked for, and it's time for him to teach and bond with a rider of his own.

Fateen is currently for consideration in the low 5️⃣s. 1️⃣5️⃣,0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣🥕

Offered for your consideration is Henry; currently located in Saline, Michigan. Henry is 2008 model, stands a stocky 14hh, and is a pony cross. He is more woah than go, but is a very fun ride and a great teacher.

Henry has been working in a showjump/dressage lesson program and ridden by a variety of riders and trainers. Intermediate teens/tweens, adult amateurs, or confident and capable Jr riders find the most success with him.

He just showed his first dressage show this weekend in Intro and Training. Scored in the low 70s and won champion in the open division for Intro level, and had two nice scores in the mid 60s for training 1 & 3.

Henry has jumped up to 2'9 in the program, could jump higher with a confident young rider or professional. I could see him thriving as a dressage horse, in the hunter or eq ring with a confident jr rider, or even doing some lower level eventing.

Only selling as our program is downsizing. A good home is paramount for him, this horse has been the best coworker and co-teacher I could have asked for.

Henry is currently for consideration in the lowest of 5️⃣s.

Had just the best weekend with Renaissance Equestrian Center's Henry at his first dressage show. Took home champion in the open division in Intro level, and performed well in Training with Sunday scores in the mid 60s in training 1 & 3.

He aimed to impress the whole weekend and took everything in stride. Truly a phenomenal pony.

PSA: he's for sale. Full formal ad coming soon, but the early bird gets the worm 😉
