To say we are blessed would be an understatement, I have not been too active on here as I have been so busy during the holiday season spending time with family and friends. From simple things that bring joy like our black copper maran starting to lay, to my brother getting a deer in our woods and getting some meat in our freezers, life has been sooooo good. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season. As usual I appreciate you all and hope to get back to posting more of our journey! ❤️

Hope everyone is dealing with the heat! Here’s some tips from us to anyone interested on ways to keep your animals comfortable in the heat wave!
•give cool, clean, fresh water!
•keep water troughs in the shade if possible
•give electrolytes, or use salt as electrolytes!
•don’t cold hose your animals in direct sunlight, wait for the sun to start going down, or keep them in the shade. It will make them hotter if you hose them in the sun!
•instead of fly sheets use fly spray!
•our horses get cold mashes during the high temperatures!
•I also froze some carrots and apples in water for everyone as a little, refreshing treat for later on in the day!
•my animals personally love popsicles lol!
