Wilt Has Found His Forever Home! 🎉🐾

We are excited to share the happiest news—Wilt has officially been adopted! 🏡❤️

Wilt came into the care of Paws & Beyond as a foster from Saginaw County Animal Care & Control back in January 2026. While his journey to finding the right family took a little longer than anyone hoped, every single day of waiting was worth it for this sweet boy to find his perfect match.

To say he will be missed is an understatement. Everyone at Paws & Beyond loves Wilt, and the house just won't be the same without him.

Thank you to Saginaw County Animal Care & Control for trusting us to be part of his story.

Thank you to everyone who shared, cheered him on, and supported him along the way.

**Position Overview**

We are seeking an experienced, independent, and dedicated Dog Groomer to join our team. This role offers high schedule flexibility on set operational days, ideal for an established professional looking to manage their own workflow. You will provide high-quality grooming services, manage client communications, and deliver safe, compassionate care—even when handling nervous or behaviorally challenging dogs.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Perform complete grooming services, including bathing, drying, haircutting, nail trimming, and ear cleaning, customized to breed standards or client preferences.
* Safely handle and manage dogs with varying temperaments, including nervous, high-energy, or challenging behavior cases.
* Maintain a clean, sanitized, and safe grooming workspace.
* Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with owners regarding grooming needs, special requests, and pet behavior updates.
* Work independently to manage daily appointment schedules and client intake/checkout.

**Qualifications & Requirements**

* **Experience:** Proven professional dog grooming experience required.
* **Equipment:** Must provide your own professional grooming tools (clippers, blades, shears, brushes, etc.).
* **Behavior Handling:** Demonstrated ability to safely handle and groom anxious or challenging dogs with patience and care.
* **Skills:** Strong customer service, communication, and time-management skills; self-motivated to work independently without constant supervision.

**Schedule & Compensation**

* **Work Days:** Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.
* **Flexible Hours:** Set your own working hours within the available operational days.
* **Pay Structure:** Commission-based pay.

We tackled a whole lot in just our first session of puppy this is evening, including:

​Building confidence in brand new environments

​Leash manners (practicing those loose-leash walks!)

​Desensitizing to sights, sounds, and touches

​Mastering the classic "sit" and more!
