DogTrekker Your guide to California's dog-friendly places! DogTrekker has now launched the its weekly newsletter and will soon launch the beta of dogtrekker.com.

David Letterman once quipped that if dogs ruled the world, motorists would drive with their heads out the windows. Most pups get perturbed when we blow in their faces, yet once in a car, their heads are out the windows and it's full sniff ahead. Dog travel is fun, healthy for our dogs and the humans who follow, and quite adventure-filled if you know where to go. The newsletter and site will provide fun places for us to take our dogs, whether you are trekking two miles, or 200 miles from home. Join us on our adventure by leaving your email address. Of course, your information is secure and will not be sold, rented or in any other way shared with any other party. You can always opt-out at any time if you wish to leave us. Happy dogtrekking from the editors of DogTrekker.

Pets are allowed in developed areas of Yosemite, on fully paved roads, sidewalks and bike paths (unless signs are posted stating otherwise). These trails allow dogs (look for signs, some may allow dogs on a portion of the trail only).

🐻 Keep your dog leashed (having your dog off leash can be very dangerous with wildlife like bears and coyotes in the park).

🗑️ Always scoop and dispose of pet waste.

🐾 Ensure that pavement is not too hot for your dog’s paws and bring plenty of water for your dog.

🍖 Store pet food and treats following the same bear-safe practices as your food.

✔️ If you’re unsure about dog access rules, check with a Park Ranger.

⭐️ Stop at any Yosemite visitor center to learn how your dog can become a B.A.R.K. Ranger!
