GOD SAID RETURN YOUR ENEMY’S WANDERING ANIMAL.

EXODUS 23:4 (KJV)

“If thou meet thine enemy’s ox or his ass going astray, thou shalt surely bring it back to him again.”

That’s God’s instruction.

Not my opinion. Not something I made up. It’s right there in the Bible.

God didn’t say to return the animal only if you liked its owner.

He didn’t say to return it unless it crossed your property line.

He didn’t say to kill it because it inconvenienced you. SSS ain’t gonna keep you from God’s judgement.

He instructed His people to return a wandering animal even when it belonged to their ENEMY.

Now, let’s talk about some of the comments I see on this page.

Many of you claim to be Christians.

Your Facebook profiles proudly proclaim your faith. You praise Him on Sunday, share Bible verses, and tell the world how much you love Jesus.

Then you come over here advocating shooting somebody’s dog because it crossed a property line or interrupted your deer hunt.

Some of you even promote SHOOT, SHOVEL, SHUT UP.

Shoot the dog. Bury the evidence. Keep your mouth shut.

Now, help me understand something.

If God instructed you to return your enemy’s wandering ox, how do you justify killing your neighbor’s dog simply because it disturbed your recreational deer hunt?

I’m not talking about defending yourself against a dangerous animal. I’m talking about a dog that poses no immediate threat to anybody.

You can support property rights. You can believe people should control their animals. You can be frustrated when a dog ruins your hunt.

But where in that Bible does it say your inconvenience justifies cruelty?

And how do you reconcile praising God on Sunday with advocating shooting somebody’s dog and hiding the evidence on Monday?

I’m not here to judge anybody’s salvation.

But I am going to ask you to explain how that behavior squares with the Scripture you proudly share.

Because Exodus 23:4 doesn’t tell you to shoot, shovel, and shut up.

It tells you to return the animal.

And remember, God wasn’t even talking about a friend or somebody you liked.

HE WAS TALKING ABOUT YOUR ENEMY.

Think about that the next time somebody’s dog wanders through your deer stand.

We all have to fight to get this stopped. There are so many law abiding dog hunters who treat their dogs with respect and love, who cherish them as part of their families and wouldn’t leave the hunt with a dog missing. There are dog hunters that respect peoples properties, don’t dump wherever they want, and try their hardest to keep their dogs on their own property. Hunting with dogs is one of the oldest sports in the country, older than the country itself. The first pack of walkers came from England when the country was founded. Banning the sport would be a huge mistake, taking away years of memories and good times. And it’s not just deer dogs, they’ll come for the deer dogs first, move to rabbit dogs, and c**n dogs. And then once the dog hunters are gone, they’ll come for the still hunters too. We are all hunters, we shouldn’t be fighting like we do. Everyone’s got their choice in how to hunt, we are all chasing the same game. Trying to provide extremely beneficial food for our families, food that is given to us by God. That being said, us as dog hunters need to be responsible and stop creating problems for ourselves. We need to stop dumping dogs at the end of the season because you don’t feel like feeding them all year. We need to stop dropping the box on someone’s land that doesn’t want you there. We need to follow the law. That’s the end of it. Follow the law. Majority of us do what’s right, but just like any other sport you have some bad ones. To the public eye I would just like to say, there’s more of us who do what’s is right than wrong. Most hunt clubs follow the law and respect people and their properties. Most dog hunters treat their dogs like family. There’s a few that don’t and they are going to get it taken away from us.

For the love of dog hunting, we must stand together and fight for these bills not to be passed. For ourselves, our children, and their children. And for the thousands of hounds that were bred over a thousand years to hunt the way they do. Without us hunting them, they’d be absolutely useless and that’s a terrible thing. All our dogs love to hunt, it would really be a shame to take that away from them.
