A huge thank you to one of our amazing puppy socializers for taking Nyxen, our service dog in training, to work with her at Farmers Insurance today!
Nyxen had the opportunity to spend the day practicing important real-world skills, including settling quietly under a desk, remaining calm in an office environment, and politely socializing with clients as they came and went. These experiences are invaluable in helping shape him into a confident, well-rounded service dog.
One of the most important parts of service dog training is learning that the world doesn't revolve around a single handler or trainer. By spending time with trusted puppy raisers and socializers, Nyxen learns to work confidently with different people, adapt to new environments, and maintain his training no matter who is handling him.

Some dogs do a job. Others make it look effortless.
River was a remarkable service dog whose love for his work shined through every day. His tasks included medical alert, item retrieval, follow, collar guide, finding exits, finding chairs, locating people, and providing deep pressure therapy. He approached each task with confidence, enthusiasm, and a genuine desire to help.
When River wasn't working, he could usually be found with a ball in his mouth or swimming at the river—one of his favorite places to be.
He was a dream to train, always eager to learn and ready for whatever challenge was placed in front of him. His intelligence, work ethic, and joyful spirit made him truly one of a kind.
The impact River had on the lives around him cannot be measured. He was more than a service dog; he was a partner, a source of comfort, and a beloved friend.
His paw prints will remain on countless hearts forever.
Run free, River. Thank you for every alert, every task, every adventure, and every moment of unconditional love. You were deeply loved, and you will never be forgotten.

Echo's Monday Night Church Visit!

Echo, our service dog in training, attended a Monday night church service and did an amazing job. She remained calm during dinner, politely greeted a few people, and even enjoyed some gentle pets. During the service, she settled quietly next to her handler and slept through the sermon like a true professional.
Training isn't always about teaching new commands—it's about helping dogs learn to remain calm, confident, and neutral in real-world environments. Echo showed all of those qualities during her outing.

Did you know?

Under the ADA, churches, synagogues, mosques, and other places of worship are generally exempt from the law's public accommodation requirements. This means they are not legally required to allow service dogs in training or even fully trained service dogs onto their property. Because places of worship are considered private organizations, each church can create its own policies regarding animals. Many churches gladly welcome service dog teams, but permission is ultimately up to the church leadership.
We are grateful to churches that open their doors to service dog teams. Experiences like these provide valuable opportunities to practice real-world skills, learn how to settle quietly for extended periods, and build confidence in new environments.

In our program, the new handler gets to meet there dog early on in training.
Today our new handler had the opportunity to meet her dog and start that bond. This was easy because we live near her college. Her service dog placement is special because she lives so close. She gets to schedule meet ups to see her dog as he trains with us. Wish this team luck.

Today, Nyxen met his forever handler.

For just a moment, time seemed to stand still. A little dog who has been loved, cared for, and prepared for this path found the person who had been waiting for him all along.

There is something bittersweet about these moments when they look at someone else the way they once looked at you.

And somehow, that's exactly how it's supposed to be.

Watching Nyxen meet his person brought tears to our eyes. Not because it's the end of his training, but because it's the beginning of something bigger than us. A bond that will change both of their lives forever.

Some dogs come into our lives for a season so they can become everything to someone else. Today, Nyxen found that someone.

️ Meet our new Service Dog In Training!

This fluffy little bundle of joy has officially joined us for training!
At just 1 year old, this handsome Papillon is full of personality and charm. He is incredibly dog-social, loves making new friends, and if he had his way, he'd spend all day being carried around like the prince he knows he is.
One of our favorite things about him is the adorable little wave he does with his front paws when he's excited—it melts hearts instantly!
While he's cute enough to get away with just about anything, he's here for an important job. Over the coming months, he'll be working toward becoming a service dog for a disabled veteran. We're honored to be part of his journey and excited to help him build the skills, confidence, and reliability needed to support his future handler.
