Why Australian Labradoodles That Are True Multigen Are the Best Compared to ALL Doodle Mixes—Including Bernedoodles, Labradoodles, Cockapoos, and All Other Mixes
First off, all mixes and purebreds produce absolute gems that so many can brag about and love. At the same time, there are many out of those same mixes and purebreds that develop serious problems within the first five years. As professional breeders with strong vision and application, it is our job to minimize—or eliminate altogether—these negative traits and genetics. We do this by utilizing, first and foremost, health testing, as well as implementing a strong culling program to w**d out all undesirable genetic traits, and finally, focusing on perfecting all the positive genetics.
In order to truly accomplish a healthy, gorgeous, and genetically consistent overall breed with an impeccable reputation, this is not easily done. In fact, this literally takes six or more generations of breeding the same exact kind of mix to the same kind of mix, generation after generation, to achieve. This is the only way to effectively w**d out problems and perfect the positives, offering a group of puppies that we as the breeder—and you as the adopting family—can feel assured are getting not just a beautiful puppy, but a puppy backed by great breeding practices and incredible genetic results.
Here at Bestland, we have kept records and can joyfully report that out of all the puppies we have produced, only 2.5 percent have reported to us any negative genetic trait that caused a health issue within the first five to eight years. The health issue most reported to us is hip dysplasia. We test heavily for hip dysplasia and hope to one day reduce this number even further.
On the flip side, if you adopt any other early generational cross—where the breeder is likely still crossing, as seen in Bernedoodles, Labradoodles, Cockapoos, Goldendoodles, or literally any other poodle mix—you will find a much greater lineup of issues and inconsistencies, with much higher percentages of negatives. You will find many that shed, cause allergies, have undesirable coats, suffer from numerous health issues, display temperament issues, and lack the strong reputation you get when compared to an Australian Labradoodle.
If you want the best, get an 8th to 10th generation purebred multigen Australian Labradoodle—one that is many decades ahead of any other poodle mix, offering better coats, health, build, beauty, and temperament, all backed by established ethical breeding programs with proven reputation.
