Riggins is just AMAZING! This boy brings his best game every time we hit the dock. Today he hit his first ever 30’ jump with UDD and then went back up and beat that jump with a 30’6” ! He won the finals and I couldn’t be more proud! 🎉❤️🐾 Videos in the comments. 😊

Meli and Riggins competed in their first Dockdogs event with Lone Star DockDogs this weekend. Videos in comments. They had so much fun on the Dock both making pro finals.

Meli made the judges do the cha-cha slide with a personal best of 24’5”. She finished 5th in finals. She also tried her paw at speed retrieve.

Jaws dropped as Riggins jumped a massive 28’1” jump. He finished 4th in finals.

Congrats to Lindsay and Tammy on a great weekend.

Last but not least Happy Birthday Arlo (Yoshi).

He was Mike’s little buddy and has been living in Texas terrorizing his Boxer buddies. Pam has taught him dock and disc. He loves going to work with mom. I miss his laid back personality.

From Pam:

Arlo is turning one, and he’s already showing what a special dog he is. He loves playing disc in UPDOG and is always excited for dock diving, where he gets to run, jump, and chase his favorite toy. In his second UPDOG competition, Arlo placed in both Greedy and Spaced Out, and in his fourth competition he placed again in Time Warp and Spaced Out. Along with his love for sports, Arlo has a wonderful temperament. He’s friendly with both dogs and people, and his happy, easygoing personality makes him a joy to be around wherever he goes. We are so excited to see where the future will take us. 🐾

Happy Birthday to Princess Kizzy (Peach)

Miss my way or the highway has her mommas attitude about life some times. Her stubborn streaks only make momma Emily a better trainer. Kizzy is a bomb proof service dog and thinks chasing bunnies is AMAZING. She has so much to offer. I can’t wait to see what they do together next year.

From Emily:

From the very beginning she has marched to the beat of her own drum. As a puppy she was fiercely independent, thoughtful, and very sure of herself. Food made sense to her immediately… toys took a little convincing. Building her toy drive was a journey, but with time, patience, and help from friends, something clicked.

Now she loves to play disc with me, and watching that spark come alive has been one of the most rewarding parts of raising her. We’re just beginning to explore freestyle together and heading to a seminar this weekend to learn even more. It feels like the start of something really special.

Kissy has always had speed in her veins. As a puppy she ran an unofficial FastCAT time that would have placed her in the top five for All Americans, and when she got to try CAT puppy runs she thought it was the greatest thing ever. I have a feeling she’s going to love anything that has a lure!

She spent so much time swimming as a puppy too, and I’m hoping we’ll get her back on the dock soon.

What I love most about her though isn’t the potential or the sports — it’s who she is.

She’s confident, sweet, and quietly determined. She’s capable of so many incredible things, but she’s the kind of dog that makes you earn every single one of them. Nothing is given freely with Kissy. When she shows up and gives you her effort, it means something.

She’s the best girl. She makes little noises when I scratch inside her ears, melts for a good butt rub, and always seems to be thinking. I’m convinced she’s smarter than me 😜

Lately she’s begun learning service dog tasks — retrieving medication, picking up dropped items, and even handing me her own leash. Watching her learn to help in those ways has been incredibly special and she definitely has an aptitude for it.

For fun she already knows an impressive list of tricks and disc foundations — sit, down, roll over, sit pretty, back up, weave, rebounds, vaults, back stalls, jumping over my arms , and more — and she absolutely loves fitness work. Her balance and coordination are incredible for her age.

But more than anything, she’s just Kissy.

A dog who does things her own way.
A dog who makes you work.
A dog who makes you laugh.
A dog who reminds you that the best partnerships are built slowly and honestly.

I truly can’t wait to see where life takes her.

Happy Birthday to Meli (Rosalie).

Miss Naughty spots really lives up to her name. She's a free spirit. Meli lives in Texas and gets to hang with her brother Riggins quite often. She may look like her dad but when it comes to food, she's all mom. I love the bond that Lindsay has with her. I can't wait to see what they can continue to do together.

Meli’s First Year: A Year at a Glance

Meli’s first year has been such a special one. From the very beginning, she has shown what a sweet and loving dog she is. She has the kindest personality and brings so much joy to everyone around her. Meli is truly a momma’s girl and loves being close, always ready for snuggles and attention. She is so deeply loved and has quickly become such an important part of the family. She also adores her dog sisters and loves spending time playing and being with them.

This year has also been full of exciting new adventures. Meli has started exploring several dog sports and has already proven herself to be a wonderful little athlete. She has been learning and trying disc, dock diving, and agility, showing great drive, focus, and enthusiasm every time she steps on the field.

More than anything, this year has been about watching her grow into such a special dog. She has a joyful spirit, a loving heart, and a personality that makes every day better. I feel incredibly thankful to have Meli in my life. She brings so much happiness, and I am so grateful for the bond we share and for all the memories we are already making together.

Meli has already become such a wonderful dog in her first year, and I feel so lucky that she is mine. This is only the beginning, and I can’t wait to see all the amazing things we will do together in the years ahead.
