Toby & Odin are back for a week of Refresh Training while their family is on vacation.

The pups were trained by me but none of that does any good if owners aren’t willing to follow through - - thank goodness their parents have been amazing at keeping up with their training!

This week shall be spent keeping things fresh and having fun exploring! I sure do love the freedom a well trained dog(s) bring us all!

Disclaimer: He’s already got a wonderful verbal and tactile communication system set up, as well as the understanding of interactive play mechanics, which helped this session go very very fast. For dog’s with lower drive, hesitant tendencies or are lacking proper responsiveness to commands and tools, I would recommend working with a professional to ensure your pup has an incredible first experience. Most people overestimate their dog and rush the process. And yes, this can be taught in a lake or slow river…the pool is just what we decided to use in this session.

A few snippets from our team training day at the yesterday. It’s so important to get our training dogs out into real world environments to practice so that their transition home can be as seamless as possible.

Every dog is met where it’s at and field trips start happening once the communication system has been built and behaviors can start to be strung together successfully.

Toby & Odin - French Mastiff brothers 🐶🐶🐾🐾🦴🦴

What a pleasure it has been to work with these two brothers and their family!

Toby & Odin enrolled in our Hybrid Puppy Program - they got started with puppy lessons and transitioned to a Board & Train at 6 months of age. Their owners surely invested in their long term success and it truly paid off.

Both puppies had some major confidence building to work on. Additionally, their guardian breed tendencies combined with their sheer size and strength made it impossible to enjoy taking them in public before training.

Now they have beautiful leash manners and can navigate public environments in a way that makes taking them in public very enjoyable. Which is great because they are striking and draw attention everywhere they go.

Now their owners continue the work on their own and with their complimentary follow up lessons that come with every adult Board and Train program we offer.

We are excited to continue to see them thrive!
