Let me introduce you to Mr Freedom K9. It really is a team effort around here. Of course, you see a lot of me, Lindsey, Owner and Head Trainer, but NONE of this is possible without an amazing team.

Working with other amazing, talented, committed trainers is what allows me to continue to provide the dedicated, professional, top notch training we give. But Chris, my husband, is the unsung hero of what I do.

I’m not saying that to toot his horn…it’s because from low rarely see the behind the scenes. He’s not a Trainer, but he is a kennel tech extraordinaire and a wonderful, willing participant when I need to proof dogs around distractions or generalize the dog working with someone else besides me before they go home to their families.

He’s didn’t ask for this life, but he gladly accepted it and excitedly learned how to help me bring out the best in these dogs. So when you see us giving the best care and training, just know he’s there helping me give potty breaks, feed dogs, proof obedience and let’s be honest…give lots of love, treats and affection, because that’s his payment for helping do all the hard work.

Not all Board & Trains are equal. Some do a great job training the dog. Exceptional Board & Trains also educate the Owner.

Our goal is to train both - pre, during and post Board & Train.

During your consultation, we take time to show you the value of what your dog will learn and how it can make your life so much fuller. During training, we are training the dog, but we are also training YOU. We take care to send you update videos, SHOWING you your dog’s progress and explaining the process. At the Go Home Lesson, we coach you how to work with your dog so that you are not just comfortable with the knowledge, but physically feel comfortable with following through with the new tools your dog has been given. Practicing a new form communication with your dog can take time. That’s why continued support is also extremely important! The Go Home Lesson is just the start - getting complimentary continued support such as follow up lessons, pack walks and refresh classes can help you keep your skills fresh and the opportunity to train in controlled environments where progress can continue to be made.

If your trainer is giving you ample opportunity to learn and be educated - take advantage of it! If not, what are you waiting for?! Choose the trainer that goes above and beyond to give you the tools to help you achieve your goals!

Toby & Odin are back for a week of Refresh Training while their family is on vacation.

The pups were trained by me but none of that does any good if owners aren’t willing to follow through - - thank goodness their parents have been amazing at keeping up with their training!

This week shall be spent keeping things fresh and having fun exploring! I sure do love the freedom a well trained dog(s) bring us all!

Disclaimer: He’s already got a wonderful verbal and tactile communication system set up, as well as the understanding of interactive play mechanics, which helped this session go very very fast. For dog’s with lower drive, hesitant tendencies or are lacking proper responsiveness to commands and tools, I would recommend working with a professional to ensure your pup has an incredible first experience. Most people overestimate their dog and rush the process. And yes, this can be taught in a lake or slow river…the pool is just what we decided to use in this session.

A few snippets from our team training day at the yesterday. It’s so important to get our training dogs out into real world environments to practice so that their transition home can be as seamless as possible.

Every dog is met where it’s at and field trips start happening once the communication system has been built and behaviors can start to be strung together successfully.
